Hi guys, in your opinion, is parking dead?

Look at my last month screenshot, there are a lot of days with clicks and $ 0 revenue. 3 clicks and $ 0.01....

My stats:
CTR: 1.5% (LOL)
RPC: $ 0.01 (LOL! But only when I'm lucky! Otherwise 3 clicks $ 0!)
RPM: $ 0.11 (Seriously??? 1k user to earn $ 0.11? $ 0.11??)
Last month earning: $ 0.09 (LOL!!!!) .

I suppose I'll move away all my domain from parking companies and redirect them to sedo/uniregistry/afternic landing page.

This situation does not make sense.

How many domain parking companies are you part of?

Also, have you tried using other domain parking companies for your domain portfolio?

Hey @biggie I noticed some of the names you have listed go to huge domains...like baileyfitness.com and basicautorepair.com at buy domains
you know you have good names when huge is drop catching them!

not just me, but yeah, they've been doing that for a few years.

it's just the "perception in an illusion" that seems real,

since "THEY" now have the names listed for sale,
then
they must be good names.

but i'll take that, @toughdomains, as a compliment. :)

the typo, had ovt score with extension and produced for a few years.

the other got some type-ins too, but since cars have changed so much since i acquired it, the need for basic auto repair now seems obsolete.

but maybe "they" can sell the names, based on reputation alone.

imo...

that would reduce traffic
not payout
not convertion
only traffic

in fact that would have increased the payout

Yes, traffic for type in names has been reduced much due to the url/search bar combo.

No, it will not increase payout (bottomline) it will decrease it.

Parking is dying for numerous reasons, one being reduced traffic which equals less revenue.

and i'd add

  • declining address bar usage
imo....

though i do agree with declining address bar usage for type-ins...

however, when it comes to a new "phenom" words like "covfefe" for example, they can produce instant type- traffic, which depending on how many times it's repeated, could generate dollars for that domain owner.

imo...

you didn't get the point my friend
when a domain has typein traffic
wether it's likely or declining or whatever
doesn't matter at all

the traffic it has
should convert at a much ligher level

as they keywords behind
where the adviser bids on
are much more expensive by now
year by year increasing

maybe you ever bought competativ traffic

think twice you will get it

Should convert higher? Actually its not.

And the topic here is about parking being dead. One of the several reasons why parking revs are lower is due to the theft of what would be direct navigation traffic.

Less traffic = less clicks.

The value of generic type in clicks is not up its down - at least what is paid to the domain owners.

ok you are a little slow
last try:

its has typein traffic
even if you think it can't OK?

now price must be higher
as advertiser has to pay more. ok?

but you are right its not
and that's not due to stealing traffic
as we have traffic ( see above )

We have tested all the major parking companies and even smaller ones. best results depended on domain
but from our recent tests @Donny Voodoo and Bodis seemed to perform the best. and yes in a few cases parking was better than a mini site...however in most cases mini site did far better. 2x to 10x better. mini site with custom this name is for sale also increased offers. even if mini site would do as good the ability to offer a custom for sale page and logo and adjust buy now price instantly resulted in much more close rates for domain sales.

If parking is dead then sell it for 10 months rev. ($4)

To any others complaining about parking being dead, I challenge you to sell your names at 10x's monthly revenue. After all, if parking is dead, then why hang on to them?

@KwelX My friend you are offering me $0.10 Each on my 50 Names.
Thanks. Its really Big Offer. I will definitely sell you.

@Rinkuji I'll give you a tip for free.
Use the data you learned from those 50 names and only repeat the actions that are earning clicks. If you stay down the same path on the next 50 names, then you may want to rethink your strategy.

Thanks for free tip .. :xf.smile:
Actually I am not interested in parking income. I just want to know which domains got most visits.
But I will try Bodis now.

do you think you could make more on that mistype domain if you just replaced the parking with an affiliate link to the travel site? or all the travel sites in germany?
