No bias legit look better than a dot com.
What, you mean giving you a generalization? Kind of like us being labeled as "delusional"? Give me a break. There is a small band of folk here hell-bent on swaying enthusiasts and investors away from gTLD's. They bulldoze into nearly every G thread, thinking we have to be "schooled" on the risks of G's and success of the com. There's enough sales, acquisition and registration threads here to see the trends and where the money's at.That's just a cheap low blow pal!
People like ME are better than condescending and presumptuous people like YOU!
Want to do a "People like you thread"? Grow up!
Stop thinking you are so smart you know motivations and intentions for ME or ANYONE.
I have gTLD's, cctlds, and alternate extensions probably older and longer than you have been a so-called "Domainer".
There's enough sales, acquisition and registration threads here to see the trends and where the money's at.
There are millions of domains registered with .Com
The probability to register good names today after the establishment of dot com back in 1985 doesn`t give domainers much chance to pick a winning horse.
But for new gTLD investors, there is and will be more space and opportunities if they invest on domains smartly.
but I also feel that today's well balanced domain portfolio should have a mixture of top caliber new TLDs as well to both maximize potential profit and guard against the ever changing internet landscape!
Regarding as how end users are using new gTLDs, on can check zone file as suggested above, or those who lack technical skills, can easily check progress of their usability in Alexa 1 mil - you will be surprised how well some particular extensions are doing, and how many nice sites are already developed on them - just guys go, and have a look
If the extension was launched 20 years ago it might have been able to put up a fight. Never going to happen with a 2017-18 launch. .COM has a 125 million+ lead in registrations and massive global mindshare. .WEB has no chance against .COM. It doesn't even have a chance against .NET!Rick stated that .web, which is an upcoming new gTLD, might have the chance to replace dot Com.
This is a mischaracterization of the status of .COM domain investing in 2017. Do you actually invest in .COM in 2017 and speak from experience, or is this something you just assume as a ngtld investor? You label gTLD's as a RATHOLE? What the hell do you think, in year 2017, dot-com investing is? There is no investing, because it's a RATRACE. Quick flips is all that's left if you're lucky. The fortunes have come and gone with them.
A strong and well balanced domain portfolio today consists of a diversified range of .COM domains geared towards different industries and niches.Just like investing in anything, history shows that having a balanced portfolio is best in most cases. The best retirement portfolios are a balance of stocks, bonds and real estate and maybe even some commodities! I believe the same can be true for a well balanced domain portfolio comprised of both dot coms and dot others. I think we all agree that dot coms have the widest base of end users and thus should comprise a large portion of a well balanced portfolio, but I also feel that today's well balanced domain portfolio should have a mixture of top caliber new TLDs as well to both maximize potential profit and guard against the ever changing internet landscape!
As I already said in another similar thread, per my own nTLD experience and observation - usually such domains are interesting only for regfee or for low budget endusers... When lack of money - in short. But for new gTLD investors, there is and will be more space and opportunities if they invest on domains smartly.
Rick stated that .web, which is an upcoming new gTLD, might have the chance to replace dot Com.
I think every extension with a good generic can easily worth more than dot Com, especially if you don`t have to type .com!If the extension was launched 20 years ago it might have been able to put up a fight. Never going to happen with a 2017-18 launch. .COM has a 125 million+ lead in registrations and massive global mindshare. .WEB has no chance against .COM. It doesn't even have a chance against .NET!

Actually you did stated that. Please see your previous share quoted below:NO NO!! I NEVER EVER STATED THAT!!
I have said that .Web has a chance to be the #1 new GTLD out of the 1000 .Horses out there. It may nudge out .Net for #2 overall. I just believe IF there will be an opportunity again like .com it will be .web. Still BIG IF! But that is where the SMART money may go if rolling the dice.
I don't know, but .web may be another .net. It may also become the REAL .com alternative. We will see how many here have the $$$ left to play in that arena. That is the BIGGIE!
I am not native speaker so It sound me like a noun. Where it may also mean : person or thing that can take the place of another:Rick stated that .web, which is an upcoming new gTLD, might have the chance to replace dot Com.
NO! NO! NO!
THAT MEANS REPLACING .NET!! NOT .COM!!
.Net has always been the main alternative to .com. NEITHER will ever overtake .com!
CLEAR ENOUGH??
As I already said in another similar thread, per my own nTLD experience and observation - usually such domains are interesting only for regfee or for low budget endusers... When lack of money - in short.
So in general (except ultrakeywords) - that looks more like sponsoring, not investing definitely.
So do you see yourself as a dot com sponsor? As I already said in another similar thread, per my own nTLD experience and observation - usually such domains are interesting only for regfee or for low budget endusers... When lack of money - in short.

I think same counts for .Com as well.

Do you declare that aftermarket prices for generic dot coms are more profitable for domainers than the great generic new gTLD renewal prices? That's not true at all. You can get good .coms all day long on the aftermarket. Domains that will have a better chance of selling than the new gtlds. You belief that you can't is what new gtld sellers count on. It's a very newbie belief tho.
