I suppose it's turning into a buyers market... Time to take out a second mortgage!

People tired of waiting on old .com's to sell cashed in to feed some of the decent new tld's that make sense for high value cpc terms.

.com is king, but there's a ton of new interest in a few of the legit looking tld's

Plus after 22 years of .com reg's don't you think the companies with 3 characters got what they needed.

Industry keywords .com are more valuable than ever

3 L's, they should of sold by now if it had value to a business.

Paid $5k for a CHIP domain in 09 and had a high offer of $65k at one point, feeling terrible now. I still see ridiculous prices on 4.cn though. I'd settle for $50k

How large is the sample size you are referring to? Very important question to ask yourself before coming to any conclusions.

Few days? Can you list all the 30K LLL.com CHIPS in the last few days for that amount.

I was just looking at the price charts "Chinese Premium LLL.com Minimum Price" and noticed a sharp dip as well as a few earlier sales at $40k and now a few at $30k as well.

hmmm maybe domain investors have switched over to Bitcoin? it seems to be rallying. I'm sure China has been watching.

I've always wondered the correlation between Domain prices high and low and Bitcoin price especially with China market.

I've heard of Chinese Bitcoin pump and dumps by one particular company. Perhaps these domain sales price drops are an indicator of Chinese domainers switching over to Bitcoin investments?

That was just based off 1 sale - trf.com 32,100 USD

Not a whole lot of data on that chart per day, it's like 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 2 0 0 0 1

Thanks for the clarification. $30k for that domain still seems kind of low. Essentially there's not enough data to see any significant trends.

You seemed nervous in your post. After many years of emails, it's not hard to read between the lines of someones text. We all like nervous sellers.

I'm not a domainer, just someone who thought it would be nice to be part of the elite '17 576' club. Haven't even tried to sell my domain yet. While I understand there was bound to be a correction at some point I assume like land the price only goes up in value. Again, I didn't purchase my domain as an investment but will be keeping my eye on the market daily. Many Chinese inquiries but no offers.

Troll alert? Really?

You are the troll making a stupid thread.

Put your money where your mouth is!

How many LLL.com Chips do you have or are you only paid to post?

Another point -
Don't look daily at any given price
Don't compare any sale to your name.
If you can wait, you make the market price for your name .

It's an interesting point, but I don't want to pollute the thread which is about LLL. If you can sustain your point, could you create a new thread (and send me a PM so I don't miss the discussion)

Here are some stats (from namebio) on LLL chips sales history

(columns year, $ value, Nb of transactions reported, 3L chips only)

2017 40450 3
2016 48566 27
2015 40781 109
2014 58308 57
2013 20577 61
2012 13900 67
2011 7906 163
2010 21285 38
2009 21484 36
2008 20142 79
2007 13094 52
2006 20403 30
2005 5690 17
2004 3313 9
1999 375000 1

It just looks like a bubble burst with a modest collapse (-25%). The rest of the market is more stable:

(non chips only transactions)
2017 27939 15
2016 30693 96
2015 29600 179
2014 38900 87
2013 31271 80
2012 19877 115
2011 15602 200
2010 58144 43
2009 27312 40
2008 18405 124
2007 34355 73
2006 24888 31
2005 14238 17

I guess the 3L chips market is likely to continue to drop by an other 25%, especially with the less favorable prespectives of the chinese economy.

It's hot potato minus the end user, softer market, commissions, and fees eat profits, china hype is becoming a reality of end users are few, and far between.

Imo Hating on llls= hating on good profit.
LOL.
Even if lll.com prices go down more(which is unlikely)they will bounce back soon. Fundamentals are still strong and in place. ROI might be smaller but the cash flow is still good.lll.coms r either the kings or crown princes of domain names so i find it hilarious and pointless to think for a sec lll.coms are not great assets to hold and trade.remove denial, accept what the market wants.short+good extension+ time =no lose domain investing.

first get your math straight...

CHIPs were selling at $65-$75k at the top of the market on Nov/Dec of 2015.
They have had a drop of ~55% to mid $30k at mid 2016 and then a modest rebound and now again another drop.

this seems much - and it is considering the short time it took - but in the big picture prices are still at first quarter of 2015 levels... a time where prices had already surge 6x since the lows in 2009/2010... and after price had break previous highs set on 2007 only at late 2013...

so take this in perspective and don't get too excited with the price action, either up or down.

Wow China has like a billion people living in it must be such a strong market, so many end users, wow I need to buy chips.

Well if China has like a billion peeps living there, then that's 7 billion living elsewhere. So can anyone tell me why these domains were commanding a premium over non chips in the first place?..... Anyone?......What, suddenly China has discovered the true value of domain names whilst the rest of the world is clueless?

Get real.
