Looking at 7652176.com, I saw that it expired. Any good? How do I know?

Thats a 7N .com, not that valuable as 6N.com's are cheaply available, some are even available to register

Thank you. I'm new to domaining, so I'm a total noob. Is there a good tool that can tell you if a dropped domain is worth anything?

Not really, you just got to go by experience. Best thing to do is look around this forum and see what sort of domains people are bidding on in the auctions. if a domain is posted and dont get any interest then that is most likely a sign its not of any value.

Random number 6N is even hard gauge on price.

But you get better chance if you have 8's the more the better as 8 counts as 1 in the equation.

It creates rare domains.

If you owned 8888888.com?

Cheap? Doubt it.

7777777.com?
6666666.com?

Repeats are great too

666
333
555
777

Each one counts as 1.

When it is said that "these combos are most desirable" I see opportunity to change 8 to 1.

Like how many domains will have double or even triple repeats!?

That should count as 1 in thee equation for random number and letter domains.

So 888AAA.COM

1x1? Lol

How many times can you see 888 in a domain?Especially an all numeric domain?

Very hard.

How about AAA?

Of if triple A's don't matter or aren't desired you can say

1x20x20x20

8000 possibilities.

Forget the tools. You already have got one: it called brains.
If you can't see a clear purpose for the domain, if you can't figure out what kind of site you could put on it, then stay away.
It's a question of experience.

Let me return the question to you: what makes you think this name could potentially be valuable ? I mean, the thought process. Perhaps you've heard things about Chinese and numeric patterns etc, but that doesn't make any numerical domain valuable.

My own approach is generally to only buy domains that I could use.

Yep, it's purely because I've heard things about Chinese and numeric patterns. I still don't see how they are ever valuable, but whatever!

I've thought of many domains such as brandyour.site. Is that any good? Probably not. Why? It's not .com. I can see a use for it though.

I would say that any numeric domains that are dropped are not worth anything. People are pretty aware of the value of numeric domains now so if its worth something it will not drop, someone will catch it before it reaches that step.

agreed! I've been offered numerics via spam. check a week later and it's been dropped. I mean it's fun really. getting offered a domain for $39? and then making a bet that it will delete with no takers and you can reg after it drops.

it is true though. if a domain drops? and is "in the wild"? it's no accident. it's deliberate PLUS the "system" is designed to catch valuable domains via expired auctions.

if such domains never get picked up in the aftermarket expired auctions with all the vultures around? why would it have value?

There aren't exact tools to help you out but there are few values you can look up to make sure you are buying the right domain.
1) Appraisal like from estibot
2) Number of endusers present for that domain.
3)CPC
4)How many extensions of the same exact name already exist.

the value of long numerics is based on the greater fool principle. you buy a domain and you know that no one will ever want or develop it but you hope another speculator will pay you more than what you paid for it.

if that sounds crazy, it is. there are a lot of crazy things in domaining that don't make any sense.
