Every now and then, I try to make small sales to keep myself motivated.
If there is a long spree without any domain sales, I try to accept small offers or do some quick outbound and accept even low offers.
It is not about the cash flow and yes, patience does pay off.
But sometimes, the feeling of making a sale is necessary to go on and buy more.

How about you?
Do you do that too or are you patient enough to wait for the suitable offers to arrive before making a sale?

How frequently do you sell your names?

Is there any minimum time that you expect to hold before you think that your domains will have value?

Well selling names is not my primary focus, but active pruning of a portfolio seemsto be an essential in good management. The problem is that everybody seems to want the good names, and ignore the ones I want to prune. :)

On an annual average:
I sell one domain a week for four figures.
I sell one domain a month for five figures.
I sell one domain a year for six figures.

Most of my sales come from about 2,500 domains that I've acquired slowly over many years. I have 20,000 domains, but the rest are lower quality that sell for three figures.

I feel you,I get what you're saying. I've been only domaining for 3 weeks now and I had just made my first sale a week ago. It got me very excited but then as I learned more, domaining is in the down trend and most domains we buy will probably not sell or at least take a very long time to.

There is not thing fixed but usually it depends on the offer made. If I think that the future trend is going to change and can have a negative effective then it not logically to hold the domains. Selling the domains for a reduced price is not a bad deal.

I never sell just to sell. I'm very good at patience and pretending I don't care about a sale which usually translates into more $ being made.

Most of my domains I'm firm on expectations but there is a small percentage that I don't really care about or the bottom of quality in my portfolio so more urgency to clear them out. Offer comes in on one those then open to wheel and deal. Offer comes in on a gem I stand my ground regardless of time since my last sale. So domain quality/domain demand is always my guide to how flexible I am on pricing.
