Thanks in advance for your answers.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I put them through Afternic and use a Uniregistry BIN lander. I usually price $1,500 - $3,500, that range.

At which category you put your domains when putting for sale at afternic/unregistry ? Specially when there are made up words? What is your success rate? You list with normal listing or premium?

You will tend to find that many have had success selling there BB rejects.

You could use page landers, sell on GoDaddy, Sedo..

if one can sell BB rejects on Afternic, wouldn't it make more sense to list your brandables on Afternic instead of BB?

A very interesting question that still puzzles me. Forgeting for a while exclusivity concerns, it would make sense to offer BB-type domains on multiple platforms. In other words, BB is a market place like many others. They certainly have some specific traffic of interest, but they list so many domains that the success rate is very low.

I don't think the BB-approved label brings a significant selling advantage: only domainers understand what it means and new businesses probably don't care. So may be a good solution is to start with BB and switch to other platforms if you don't sell quickly.

Currently using the same method (afternic/uniregistry). But am getting more results with "make offer". So, have switched 90% of my names to "make offer" instead of BIN

Guess I stand apart from most of the crowd here, who seem to be utterly, well... hipnotized by BB ;)

BB is a great and innovative resource, to be sure. My hat off to them. This said, their mysterious (not to say suspect), far from transparent domain acceptance algorithms and inflexible terms and policies make them a useful marketing tool, but not a partner you can rely exclusively on. General purpose marketplaces like Afternic or Sedo apart, there are a few other specialized, brandable-centric marketplaces you should apply to as a matter of course and compare results. In no particular order: Namerific, BrandDo, BrandRoot... have I missed anything?

They should all be part of your domain marketing strategy. However, the most important brandable marketplace should always be... your own marketplace! Okay, tools for this are lacking at present, but I'm told this will change before this year's end :)
In the meantime, you can play around with Efty and NameSilo's "Marketplaces" creator...

I checked on godaddy and afternic, cant find any category to list brandable domains. Which category to select specially when the names are made up having no meaning?

Normal or premium listing? And which category you select for those domains. General or any other because when i checked there is no brandable domains category which i believe they should have.

Brandroot i read here that it doesnt accept any new sellers. Correct me if i wrong.
Namerfic take lot of time to review domains. I have sent few domains which are pending for like 1andhalf month.
Branddo doesnt seem convincing still i shall try.

As for afternic sedo godaddy my question is how to list these domains which category like general or any other as there is no option of brandable. Also premium or normal listing. This i am asking specially for the names which are made up.

I don't choose any category. I don't think it matters. With Afternic, I don't think any end-users are actually going to Afternic.com and searching based on categories. But those names get distributed through GoDaddy and many other registrars, where the category does not pass through to as far as I know.

Have the same setup (though not listing anything on BB). At the moment, playing with an idea to simply let my non-tech domains to resolve to default Godaddy placeholder pages. Reasoning is of course that when someone searches for a domain @ GD and finds it available to be purchased, he/she still most likely types in the domain to see if there's anything. And when he/she sees that the resolved domain is sold by another company, he/she gets anxious.

If the person simply types in the domain, there's still "help me to buy this domain" link on the GD placeholder page. In your own language.

Just an idea, haven't tried it myseld yet.

I think BB 'rejected' is far too harsh a term for some names that have merit. Maybe 'declined' for their network.

Sure many declined names probably are unsellable, but I know for a fact there are names that will sell to another client base. In some case you might have to alter your pricing strategy though. Bearing in mind BB are adding 30% on top of the sale.
