The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
trimoza.com has expired on bb and can be registered and relisted with no listing fee.

I picked it up and offered it in the free domain section to anyone with 100+ listed, and zero sales. If nobody claims it in 24 hours, I'll change the rules to the person with the most published domains and zero sales. Somebody has to do something about the sales inequality, and that doesn't mean focus on adding their 5,911th domain.

hi @Dnbolt does dnbolt.com stopped updating? or BB sales have stalled? today is 4th day of the month yet only 3 sales have been reported at dnbolt.com so far where BB would normally sell average 3 names a day.

Maybe BB has found a way to block the data. Unlikely no sales in the past few days.

I will investigate and check if anything is wrong with the engine. Most likely the sales could have stalled.

People, we obviously need to re-think our BB investments, especially with certain domains, especially ones with endusers.

If this is reported correctly by DNBolt, Buzzlike in com sold on BB during the 2nd to last week of September for $2495

So, imagine my surprise when the same domain was sold for 19,000 EUR = $21,311 USD on Sedo on September 30th. Check Namebio or http://www.thedomains.com/2016/10/04/sedo-weekly-sales-chart-led-hotbot-com-155000/

Did anyone else notice this?

The domain was initially owned by M.krell. So this could be the basis to actually find out if sold on sedo.
It's also worth noting that brandbucket sales are in the decline with respect to all the 40K plus domains listed.

We'd have to check the Whois history. It's either you reported it sold when it wasn't (it might have just been removed) or someone bought it and flipped it in a week for a major profit.

Well the domain did sell on BB. I've been doing this for 1 year +

And I am a big supporter of your effort. I am simply saying that those are the two possibilities.

Not sure why people are still using BB, many with good portfolios have left already.

I remember when this name expired on Name.com in March. Michael beat me by mere hours to it. I was waiting for the price to drop one more day.... whoops :| Knew it was a good name, but that's really interesting, it looks like someone maybe had a bead on a buyer, swiped it off BB, and sold it for much more on Sedo.

The current registrant is Sedo Transfer Service.

Or the owner of the domain had contact with a buyer through BB, 'sold' it out of the marketplace and listed it on SEDO for a higher price.

Yes I am well aware that Krell is the owner, which makes it even more sketch-tastic.

I wouldn't put it past him for a second, especially since BB is circling the drain.

People do their worst on the way down.

Speculation until proven, but it's not a hard scenario to lay the foundation for.

Brandables can never die...and ppl do have sales ..that's y ppl invest. May be ppl selling coz of renewals..if ur a long term holder it's worth the investment.

I'm not talking about brandables. Ofcourse they ain't die.

BB doesn't seem to be doing well anymore and I'd prefer to have my own landing page etc than to keep them on BB.

Obviously you having your name at bb will give your domain more exposure ..rather than just having a landing page...they rank no 1 for the most keywords and they do direct marketing to end-users.reporting more bb sale will def change this view...or people do talk bad about bb becoz they don't want new ppl to enter or crash the resale market value, as far as I see def ur domain will have more value with BB if u don't have ur own website ranking on top of Google or u dont have good budget to market ur names...

Most of the names get sold via type in and BB charges 30% for that as well.

I know a few guys who left BB mainly due to this reason.

But others may be doing well on BB tho.

Do u think invented names can sell via type in ...?

And I do see lot of invented names sells in bb

Novanym has only invented names and have sold 10℅ of their inventory with their site last year...

I feel ppl left may be coz it is going to be too crowded ...due to the recent $1promo...

As far as I see brandable sales from bb and others will go steady ...

Do you mind me asking your source for that please?

I do like how they seem to put more branding work into each lander, and the option of 3 logos is also interesting.

It would be interesting if it was removed (not bought) from BB then sold on Sedo, because BB has a 30 day removal policy. Unless,

1. The buyer contacted him directly 30 days ago, and he waited to complete the transaction.
2. He didn't wait 30 days to remove the domain from BB's marketplace because that's another perk of position
3. He's giving 30% to BB.

I see a lot of downsides to using BB.
  • They require exclusivity. Other marketplaces don't have such requirement so you can list your names on GD, Afternic, Sedo and others for maximum exposure.
By doing this they protect themselves from competition but you are a locked in customer.
  • You have to redirect your domain name to them, so you give them all your traffic for free. Unlike the other auctions sites where you can list domains but use them at the same time, or take advantage of parking for revenue.
  • They charge a listing fee ($10/domain).
  • Then they charge 30% on a sale, it's a lot (the buyers pays for this).
  • They also charge for the logo (again the buyers pays for this but you have to factor this in the asking price).
  • Like any market place, your domain name is commoditized along many other domains, some of which are alternatives for the buyers and therefore possible competitors. For example, if I type your domain, and land on BB, and I start browsing the site and I end up buying another domain, you'll not even get a referral bonus in exchange for the free lead. BB gets lots of free traffic.
  • Their terms do not allow you to publicize your sales without their approval
So as you can see the terms are much more to their benefit than yours, and they are less favorable than anywhere else.

they rank no 1 for the most keywords
Huh ? You mean for made-up keywords ? Then you might as well use your own landing page and buyers would find you nonetheless.

and they do direct marketing to end-users.
Do they ? Or are they just listing domains passively on their website ? Even without doing any promotion they get plenty of traffic, and they even charge you for the privilege of listing your inventory. Very nice business to be in.

Why not ?

They are taking their time to come with a clever story that explains this - can't wait to hear this one.

I'll give them max. 2-3 years to sell the domain. If your domain does not sell within 2-3 years than better to take it off after 2/3 years and market yourself to get a sale.
