Too many times there have been bids by members both new and old that don't pay for the domains they win at auction, wasting precious time of sellers and other bidders and they don't get banned because maybe admins are waiting for more reports.

The admins must not wait for multiple reports, they should permanently ban the members who fail to pay in 7 days, especially new members.

Thanks.

Such scenarios are just not that black and white though.
I agree that being strict where possible can make for a better forum, but you also have to consider mistakes are just that, and one day you might make one, after a legitimate bid and win :) Is that then it, Harris100 is banned? And weren't you a new member once too? Possibly making a mistake, but then going on to be a valued forum member ;)

Of course such things shouldn't happen, and should be avoided where possible, but people should get warnings for mistakes (ie 3 strikes etc). Also, they can ban from certain things, such as not paying gets you a ban from bidding in auctions etc.

Other things, such as shill bidding, is already sorted, people get banned if reported.

Actually, I am very lenient, I even tell auction winners that you can pay a month late their is no problem at all, just keep me updated.

But most of the times, it is 100% clear that the auction winner never wanted to pay, we can see that:
"StupidIdiot was last seen: Viewing conversation or something" but wasn't replying to our messages. And sometimes the guy says I will pay tomorrow or this day or that day but never pays even though he is actively bidding on other auctions.

Check out the last trade review I received:

"Super Recommended, waited for payment for 15 days due to some issues, Very Helpful and understanding".

The non-paying auction winner should be banned when he is active, but doesn't reply or has no valid excuse of why he wasn't able to pay.

At the risk of making my previous post sound pedantic...

...such specifics can work and I agree with that. (you sounded a bit generic before "ban them all I say" :D)

So yeah, perhaps something like the seller raises a conversation with the buyer and some generic staff user (which is in a pool all mods can see) and no reply in 7 days and banned unless contacts the NP email address to resolve.
Not sure how often that happens though, to warrant doing anything at all ..?

Hello,

While instantly banning members may appeal to some, it's not the right solution in many of these cases. Generally, people learn from their mistakes (Or didn't know about a rule) and deserve a second chance. We do have a warning system that automatically closes accounts that reach the maximum negative warning point allotment (25 points). In cases like you're referencing, a bad business infraction is issued to a buyer or seller that fail to honor a binding agreement. This infraction carries 15 points. It's our hops that a member will learn from this mistake and never do it again, however if they do violate that rule again, any other rules, or already have active warnings, and go over the 25 point allotment, their account is automatically closed. We have a zero tolerance for habitual offenders.

Keep in mind that in more serious cases where shill bidding or other types of fraud take place, we restrict their account's marketplace access immediately (the first time) for security reasons so that they can no longer conduct any business in our marketplace.

I hope that helps shed a little more light on this matter.

Sorry to bring this up, but how do I report such bidder?
Thank you.

When you visit their profile page, there is a "Report" link near their username.

Hope that helps,
