While I have often received terrible customer service from eBay, I was shocked to hear a SUPERVISOR from the Resolution Department actually tell me it would not be possible to remove false feedback stating a domain was not transferred, if in fact, it actually had been since there was no way to prove it. He also made an incredibly asinine statement by saying it was a matter of OPINION since no tangible evidence existed. I stated an opinion is subjective (e.g., your mood today), whereas, stating a domain was not received after it was transferred would be construed as a FACT. I explained that domains are intangible, and essentially, intellectual property, which cannot be assigned a United States Postal Service (USPS) Tracking Number, etc. for delivery confirmation purposes. Of course, it is still possible for an individual to mail an empty box with a USPS Tracking Number and still have not sent promised item(s). Moreover, I explained the concept of performing a whois lookup but stipulated it was quite easy for domain owners to spoof the records with any contact information they desire. Not quite certain how this person became a supervisor given his complete lack of knowledge and customer service.

Bottom line up front, if a seller purchases a domain name then lies by leaving fraudulent and negative feedback stating it was not received, do not expect any support from eBay attempting to reconcile the issue!

In summary, SELLERS BEWARE who you are dealing with on eBay and do not expect any support from eBay customer service!

The policies they have toward domain sellers is absolutely pathetic, always been a problem over there, they need a complete overhaul and hire someone who understands the domain business.

I am giving them another go right now, but only after telephone calls in advance to express my concerns. They know they need to do something because EVERY name there is "Premium" and it is far too easy to "game" search results.

All of the venues we use accept credit cards, but at least there's a paper trail if somebody were to charge back at SEDO or Escrow or wherever, and as they were the ones paid they can fight on our behalf? eBay have a mechanism, but a random customer service rep might not "get" it.

If eBay get their act together they could be unstoppable.

I have been ripped off both as a buyer and seller over the course of 15 years. Ebay no longer cares about protecting their users period. Their customer service is exactly the opposite: A complete disservice. Ebay employees are happy to collect a paycheck as their 3rd World Platform bleeds loyal customers. I finally ditched that platform altogether.
