LLLL.com offer , buyer wants to use PayPal

Have been out of the Domain biz for some time now. I have 3 LLLL.com names I want to sell. I was offered 288.00 each for them and buyer wants to use paypal. They have a namepro account that is only 1 month old and no feedback, my thoughts is this would be a risk for me. Thoughts?

I don't trust Paypal in domains transactions. Anyway, it's possible take some precautions, for instance the buyer could pay in advance:

- The seller, you, send to the buyer the screenshot of the account of the domain name with all the informations about it. So, the counterpart has a proof of your transparency.

- The buyer makes the payment to the seller

- The seller checks the payment, then "unblock" the domain to transfer

Don't use PayPal if you don't know them, use escrow or sedo simple escrow

The floor price of these LLLL.com is over $2000/each if they are CHIPS (No AEIOU or V). Even if not CHIPS, they are probably worth more than $288/each.

I wouldn't use PayPal. Use Escrow.com with buyer paying the fees.

I have used PP for almost all my transactions and I have been fine but I have always taken some precautions : if you have been away from domaining and NP for a while then I suggest you to take a cautious approach.

1) In the last year and recent months the number of non paying buyers on NP has increased exponentially and that could reflect the current status of our industry so I would advise you not to accept PP from someone who has no history on the forum.

2) Escrow fees are not high and you could split them with the buyer or have him paying them.

3) Another option would be for you to make a listing on Ebay or another marketplace where there is an escrow service or some sort of buyer / seller protection

4) As others have said, get an appraisal before you sell.

Of course, they can be legit and honest new member, but it's better to be safe, than sorry.

I don't prefer eBay for this kind of sale. on eBay buyer still can file the chargeback. It happened to me in December 2015. when buyer filed a chargeback after 4 months of eBay purchase but I was lucky and good members of namepros find that guy for me here on namepros and he paid me again but still I lose $20 PayPal chargeback fee. I also quit using PayPal for flippa.A buyer opened a dispute back in June 2015 on PayPal for flippa purchase amount was $575.Since then I consider only escrow for big amount's and using eBay only for small sales.
