This story starts with DNF; a barren wasteland that once was a leading forum within the domain industry. While the forum itself played a huge role in propagating the myth that is Adam Dicker, the story really begins with DNF College in the summer of 2011.

Updates / Reports
These are in no particular order.

From what I understand, Adam still owes north of $33,000 to previous customers and business partners. As I receive more information, I will update this figure.

Aside from any civil action, I would suggest that law enforcement be involved if they haven't already. Get the contact of two fraud investigators in both Canada and the US, hand over all the info, and also put them in contact with each other. Receiving money for a service and not delivering is a crime, and it should be investigated.
I suggest everyone re-read the letter again.

It is directed to a claimant with a willingness to resolve but with conditions attached.

It's not a lawyer's letter for libel.

Therefore, whom the letter was addressed to will make the situation a little clearer.
So, basically, "Remove the comments saying I owe you money for services that I never delivered and I'll refund the money I owe you for services I never delivered." He's nothing more than scum.

I have one also, the same letter.

Me too... hahaha. Didn't bother to open it though, I never click on any attached file coming from unknown sources. I guess Adam is trying to shut us up lol Not working on me Adam, I'll continue to comment freely on this matter.

I'm responding to mine, primarily to correct inaccuracies and seek clarification on what it is that they are requesting from me specifically.

As I have never had a contract with Adam Dicker I'm going to withdraw from the group of people seeking advice with Sir Drago and Shane Bellone and accepting Mr Reinhardt's invitation to respond personally.

This is hilarious. This attorney is actually suggesting that Adam Dicker's reputation is suffering as a consequence of a few individual posts within this thread? Huh??? This thread is entitled "Is Adam Dicker a criminal?" for pete's sake!!! Moreover, it contains story after story told by people who paid him either for services they never received, or for services that were sold on the basis of misrepresentations. It also includes details of how he endlessly strung people along when they tried to collect either the service they paid for, or collect a refund. On top of that, AD acknowledged that stories posted here were true. So now, this lawyer is actually going to go to court, and with a straight face, tell a judge that a handful of posts within this thread are damaging AD's reputation? Really??? You could delete 75% of this entire thread and his reputation would still be crap! What a joke. I wouldn't spend 10 cents to defend against this because there's no way a court could take something this nonsensical seriously.

I wouldnt be suprised Adam Dicker hired a fiverr individual to fake a lawyer letter.

Exactly. Most people are apparently way nicer than I am because that's what I would have been doing a long time ago.

With respect to the letter, I think it's worth remembering that just because a lawyer sends a letter doesn't mean that anyone has an obligation to respond. Ask yourselves whether a) he has a case and b) it's likely that he's going to start filing lawsuits all over the globe? Obviously everyone is free to handle this as they see fit, but I'd be flushing that letter down the toilet if I'd received it.

I'm just trying to catch up on this thread since yesterday.

Friday deadline has come.

Instead of refunds to the victims. The people helping the victims got letters from a Canadian attorney...

LOL

Good Grief...Charlie Brown

Letter was sent after close of business on a Friday. If it is a fake no one will know till at least Monday.

Good letter. This would have been mine:

Dear Mr Reinhardt,

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Yours truly.

I'm particularly interested in the possible tort law implications of placing conditions on third parties for the resolution of contract disputes, where those third parties have not been authorised to act as a representative.

Doesn't appear the attorney is coming from a position of strength, the letter reads too passive and inviting arbitration - with the only veiled reference to legal remedy being the weakly positioned final statement, tossed in as lawyer speak to intimidate the less constitutional.

Asking if Adam Dicker is a "criminal" could actually be stated that he is; given the fact he was busted for illegal satellite TV boxes. Complaining on a public forum that your boss treats you like "shit" and doesn't pay you timely, or at all, doesn't make for a legal civil case. Concluding that his statements made public or privately could be construed as "threat" or indirect "extortion" is perspective based, and definitely not solid enough for meaningful civil litigation. If I buy a TV from Amazon and badmouth Amazon when they won't refund my money because the TV is broken, Amazon doesn't sue me because I am entitled to my beliefs and opinions about their service - or lack thereof.

Granted, any attorney will take a case if he is paid enough to do it. Even one as fruitless as this. But I suspect the attorney told him he had nowhere to go with it, it would cost AD a ton of money to pursue the goose chase, and offered to work as a mediator/intimidator of sorts at a far lesser expense.

If there was meat on this bone there wouldn't be a letter offering to settle the matter with conditions - it would be a service of the lawsuit filed.

If the letter is genuine and if lawyers in Canada bill per letter, the more correspondence the more $ it costs Dicker.

Letter refers to removing from NP? You can't, and letter does not address all the content being "mirrored" or reposted elsewhere. It can't.

I can't believe the letters are any more than another delay measure...buying Mr. Dicker more time. IMO

The whole thing is obviously just an attempt to intimidate people into keeping quiet. I think it will backfire. I think that some of the people who were still being patient will see this letter and be angered enough to file complaints with the authorities.

.Compared to other gowlings letters..the text in the letter posted looks really off (it's smudged and looks awful) compared to these. It might be fake. Definitely make sure the email it was sent from isn't fake or forward and it's legit.

The firm seems to be real (Google it); whether or not this particular letter is really from that firm is unknown, at least to those of us who have not received the letter.

This letter would be easy to fake; anyone can impersonate another person.

But gmail has an option where you can check the path of any email ("Show original"); perhaps other email platforms have this option.

FYI:

This is Gowlings: http://www.gowlings.com/Firm/

This is their contact page: http://www.gowlings.com/ContactUs/

I would think that all emails from them would be from _____@Gowlings [dot] com

Anyone notice that law firm represents Scientologists?

For anyone that does not know, Scientologists offer a paid program of courses that lead you to higher personal and spiritual levels (they claim)... some have sued them after spending hundreds of thousands on that and not seeing results. If you have not heard of this scandal before, just google it.

Maybe the word Criminal in the thread title should be changed to Scientologist? Where did Adam spend everyone's money and where did he learn his techniques?
