This story starts with DNF; a barren wasteland that once was a leading forum within the domain industry. While the forum itself played a huge role in propagating the myth that is Adam Dicker, the story really begins with DNF College in the summer of 2011.

These are in no particular order.

From what I understand, Adam still owes north of $33,000 to previous customers and business partners. As I receive more information, I will update this figure.

I sent him a few domains to grade and he chose FloridaLoan.com. He told me that he can build a website for $3,000. I finally broke down and told him yes. I sent him the $3,000. He assign this job to one of his "employees" which never got in touch with me when I had a problem with the unfinished website. I would try to get a hold of Dicker but slow response! When, he did email or call back, it would always be " next week it should be done". That must of been 8,9,or 10 times that that when on. They still did not get the website right or done. One example was the telephone on the site was not mine or even a working number. I emailed or wrote to him(Facebook) over 6,7 time about the number but it was never corrected. He finally called me and told me that He will try to sell FloridaLoan.com for me at The Conference. And, if he didn't, he would refund my $3,000(this went on for over 6 months). I got in touch with him after the Conference and he told me that he never said he would refund my $3,000. I swear he did!!!!!!!

Thank you,

Victor

So can we expect all Adam Dicker's domains to drop?

@Jaqpot
I had similar excuses to my requests also.I took to posting on the DNF College Facebook page when he was ignoring my Skype or emails and he would send a message for me to contact him and then he would delete the post from the group.

The website or at least the WP theme seems to be built by http://agscybertech.com/
ref http://www.floridaloan.com/wp-content/themes/Florida_Loan/style.css
Though the site credits itself to http://www.dcg.com/

Have you tried contacting them directly? Did they get paid?

That is well, a massive price for that amount of work - did you try getting other quotes?

I'm assuming all these griping people, cannot afford a lawyer. All these stories would have qualified for criminal fraud. I would have imagined Adam being led out of a T.R.A.F.F.I.C conference in handcuffs.

Nonsense! On the contrary, he'd probably be asked to speak at other domainer conferences as a "guest speaker," then held in high esteem in the usual domain "news" webrags.

This business is a cesspool. I've been saying that for a long time.

Where have you seen Shane saying AD is a criminal? You guys ever bother to read it properly? (not just yourself - seen some other folks in here jumping to this conclusion). It's like you asking someone "Are you stupid?" It doesn't mean you said the guy is stupid, does it?

http://www.npr.org/2014/04/01/29769...npr&utm_campaign=nprnews&utm_content=04012014

It's easier to post what you think when you don't have to actually think first..

Silence is probably per his lawyer's advice.

Everyone always assumes that the "I'll get my lawyer on to you" actually means something. It's like everyone has a personal lawyer on retainer. If there was a lawyer on retainer then the communication would already have taken place (that's what they would be retained for). In other words - most people who are going to use a lawyer would use a lawyer and not threaten the potential of using a lawyer. Usually it all ends when people find out how much lawyers charge - there appears to be a lot of small claims court type numbers here and that is hard when you're doing business with foreigners and you suck it up (Yes, I'm assuming that Canada is foreign for most - not sure if he's incorporated or not).

Domainers are cheap and look for cheap options - a profitable website for $3000? If it was that easy I'd have bought thousands by now. I hate to say it but the best scams are overpromising to people who don't lose too much and are partially embarrassed to have fallen for it. If you have a reputation then these people suffer in isolation because they don't want to call it out because of the backlash. The number of rip-off reports on the SEO/Small website business is ludicrous in general - why people think people like Adam or Rob Monster or Kevin Leto have some kind of magic bullet is beyond me. A lot of online success is smoke and mirrors and a lot of it is real but there's usually hard work, smarts, and work ethic behind the real. If it smells it smells.

It's why people like you stay and should be in business. People should look and work local - these people know their local market (if a small business) and are reachable, responsible and a part of the community. You pay what you get for. Why people don't go with trustworthy businesses and look for posts by members like you (they are here) is something I''ll never understand.

At minimum people should have contracts. Where are the contracts in these things? I sent Adam $3000 and he promised me a refund (I'm sure he SAID it) WTF? If I spend $300 I have a refund policy read out loud to me.

Large volume small value with plausible deniability... the bestest kind of scams.

Well, if everyone clicks on the ad at the same time...Confetti will fall from the sky! (and then everyone will be charged $29.95)

But don't wait. It's going to be $899 tomorrow unless you join the DU fanclub at which case I will broker your ad for just $299 saving you $600 on wholesale value.

EDIT: Just read your article. The info about Adam may or may not be true but publishing Michael Cyger's conversation is dead wrong unless he gave you permission.
Why anyone would do business with you at this point is beyond me. Just the fact that you are going to hang them out to dry if things go bad would be enough for me. Again, not saying the info is wrong or right but harming Michael Cyger was unnecessary.

How is this harming Michael Cyger unless he did something he shouldn't have and now that is put in the spotlight? Mike seems like a very nice guy (based only on watching his shows), but that said the question I have is did Michael Cyger harm anyone? From the conversation text it seemed like Michael was aware that something was amiss for some undetermined period of time, but he still kept Adam on the show and kept Niche Websites as a sponsor and finally he had an overwhelming number of sources that said stuff that he finally decided to end the relationship, but still give him one last show.

In the professional world you should suspend the relationship once you heard allegations until you get the facts. But in this instance that did not look like what has happened, so how many people watched a Domain Sherpa show and as a result had dealings with Niche Websites or Adam that may cause them an issue? Seems like Cyger put his friendship first when he should have put the welfare of his readership/viewership first and he only took action when it was deemed absolutely necessary. Action should have been taken at the first rumblings, he shouldn't have needed sponsors, and sherpas, and people following the show, and others to all come to him before he did something.

And you even let the domain expire, FloridaLoan.com was picked up by me about an year back.
Sorry to hear about your loss, $3000 for developing a website is a rip-off. The best of websites can be ordered to be developed for as little as $100-$1000.

Carob, the website currently is not his.
I picked up FloridaLoan.com when it expired and sold to someone else at Flippa about an year back.
The present website is that person's.

Uniregisty allows credit terms?

Jen if you have a huge portfolio, say 10,000 domains and you approach a registrar saying you want to move everything to them, most would give you some type of financing deal. I confirmed this with Michael Berkens. No one is moving 40,000 names and paying that upfront transfer fee.

This is the sad state of affairs. A fellow domainer lost good money to see what could have been.

This 3 grand could be someone's only investment, which in theory would put them out of business.

But as stated. Where are the written contracts?

Seems like @Shane Bellone is doing Google Advertisement (see the first ad in PAID ads section at the top) as well on his blog post. Wants other victims to come forward.

I guess it's very sad to see a great career culminate into something like this and giving you a forced and disgraced retirement. But then the KARMA has its job to do and pays back eventually.

I had an experience on DNF with Adam back in 2011 and was not happy with how he responded so I blogged about it to warn others. The short of it is someone intentionally won an auction of my domain without the intent of paying (just to keep someone else from buying it). They did not pay, then they contacted me to try to buy it for a fraction of what the auction ended at. I informed Adam of this and asked him to ban this member since the guy was clearly a scumbag and not someone you should want around a good forum and Adam refused to. I lost whatever respect I had for him then and never have had any dealings with him since then. It's a small case, but it shows he put his agenda before the welfare of the hundreds/thousands of members on DNF.

Probably wants other victims to come forward.

I'm pleasantly surprised someone is spending money to help get the word out but I can't take credit for it.

You mean, you didn't put up that Adam Dicker Ad with Google but someone else did?
