Just want to say thanks for following the first day, and onto the second day we go, if you missed yesterdays opening to the guide, you can check it out here.

Quick update: The word document we have created will be referred to as our Site Bible from now.

Some day 1 follow up.

Yesterday I mentioned that it could be a good idea to check out the buy domains section for a cheap name to get started with, I spent a couple of mins this morning picking out some half decent names that are going cheap in the auctions right now.

That's about all I could pick up, bear in mind that I did this during my morning ritual, it's an intimate time I wanted to spend with myself, i'm sure you can do better.

What we did yesterday.

Yesterday we got our domain sorted out with some hosting, pulled some keywords and a couple of descriptions, bought a couple of fiverr gigs and slammed a wordpress install on our site, so in a sense, a whole wall of text wasn't really needed, the jist of everything we have done can be put into a sentence, how deflating.

Whats up today?

Today we're going to build out our website by installing some plugins getting some content set up and roll out the fiverr gigs – I told you it would only be a short day – it's pretty much going to be like that from here on out till day 9/10 when we count out our handful of Washingtons and raise a glass of neat water on the rocks.

We will:

  • Basic wordpress setup from a checklist.

  • Install Wordpress RSS Importer.

  • Install SEO plugin.

  • Install Theme

  • Scout for RSS feeds relevant to our content.

  • Publish RSS feeds and set up automatic blogging.

Day #2.

Get started by closing everything on your PC, then open up your filezilla, your internet browser and the word document you crafted yesterday.

In google chrome I have my wordpress admin dashboard, fiverr, namepros and the front-end of my site, best to do the same to keep your workspace clear and relevant, it's truly the best option for getting things done quickly and efficiently, time is money and vice versa, the more time you spend, the less rewarding the sale becomes.

Enough of your jibber jabber.

Get into your wordpress dashboard and let's do a quick check of all the things that we require and make sure that we have them set up accordingly.

  • Permalink structure set to post name.

  • Site name and title

  • Categories added
Permalinks are Setting > Permalinks.

Site name and title are in Settings > General.

Add 4-5 categories based on your topic and keywords – Posts > Categories > Add New.

Done.

I assume you found a theme for your site, install it. Make sure that you have installed the required plugins, and I would add the demo settings also if that's an option for you.

Some general advice, these sites are built for content production, free magazine themes are perfect for displaying multitudes of information in one place.

Now head on over to Plugins > Add New from the wordpress dashboard menu, let's install the plugins that we require. Top right of the page there is a search form, type in “RSS Importer” and install the first option at the top left of the results, it's called Wordpress RSS Importer I believe for those that do manual plugin installs, not that there's any reason to do that.

Install and activate the plugin, click dashboard in th top left of the wordpress menu, you should now be able to go to Settings > RSS Post Importer.

Okay, let's add another plugin before we talk about the rss post stuff – rinse and repeat the plugin install phase, and this time search Yoast, and install the wordpress Yoast SEO plugin, this is good for us, it takes about 2 mins to pop your keywords and descriptions in there and it gives you a huge advantage.

Those RSS auto blogs..

Now access your rss post importer from the settings menu, and click on Add New Feed near the top of the page, here you get a basic form, for the free version of the plugin, which is all we need.

Head on over to google and do a quick search for “Topic RSS Feeds” and maybe even visit reddit to see if there is a subreddit you can grab a feed from, the news is usually pretty on point and well updated, always a good source of content.

I searched for Technology RSS Feeds, and I came up with a bunch of results from Wired, Tech Crunch and TechRadar, so I went through the categories of feeds that they had on each site and wrote them down by category into the word document we created.

Now you need to build those RSS feeds into the plugin, set the category for your feed, drop the feed URL in, click “add new feed” again and add one feed per category till you've done them all.

In the top right of the screen you'll see a “Save and Import” and “Save” we want to save our feeds, and do an import of them right now, so hit the Save and Import button, to instantly grab us some posts – this can take a while, but it's kitted out with a pretty progress bar to help you pass the time comfortably knowing your wordpress hasn't crashed.

Boom, we now have a site, with a theme and it automatically updates with content – it's already worth $50 to a huge audience that buy auto-blogs on flippa, so if your with me so far, good job, we just made bank already.

And the SEO plugin..

This is a pretty easy set up, you'll have to go through the options yourself, there is a million guides on the googles for how to set up Yoast, I don't need to write about it here.

Add your keywords and your descriptions from the word document we created, which we will now call, our Site Bible, I think we can get away with this since the religious types will be too busy discussing gay marriage and the birds and bee's.

We are done?

Yes, we are done, but first you should head over to fiverr, by now the seller should have requested a couple of things from you, mainly your site url, title, keywords and description, maybe not those exact things, but you get the point. All of those things are in your Site Bible, just copy and paste them out, get your gigs rolling and do something more entertaining with your time, I recommend Californication or even Entourage, both are quality tv series.

I will post some reference URL's up here later to flippa sales for auto blogs so you can get some idea of the value your site might currently have, after a total of around 20 mins work.

Whether planned or accidental, by introducing a small delay in the proceedings, Toby has created quite a demand for the next installment and based on the first 2 days, I am sure it will be worth it when it arrives.

I searched for Technology RSS Feeds, and I came up with a bunch of results from Wired, Tech Crunch and TechRadar, so I went through the categories of feeds that they had on each site and wrote them down by category into the word document we created.

I'm afraid to use their feeds.Their tos clearly mentioned that we can't publish their articles unless got written permission. Also in this way our website might penalized by google algorithm.

still anyone want to use rss feeds, then use some auto spin plugin (still i'm not encourage people to use rss feeds). IMO.

Would be relevant if we were looking for long-term value of any kind from our website, however that is not the aim of these 10 days, it's also the whole basis of the guides - perhaps you should check out day 1 first.

RSS feeds shouln't be altered, and sources are always left, it's not a great deal of a problem from a publisher perspective, and so long as we create fresh content, we won;t be targetted by google - day 3 visits these issues.

If their T&C state that you can't publish their articles, so you autoblog them anyway, and they come after you, saying "but I was only..." or "but it was the whole basis of my..." isn't going to count for anything. You're obviously informed enough to know to look for copyright violations so you can make your own decisions as to whether you want to use those specific feeds or not. There are feeds that specifically state you can use them, they just take a bit longer to find.

Spinning articles is less ethical than just reblogging directly imo - you're showing intent to use someone else's intellectual property and spin it enough to make it appear as your own, so it's obviously not for moral reasons that you don't want to use those feeds.

If you're prepared to don the grey hat, you could look for google deindexed sites with rss feeds that you can pull, they most likely won't have T&Cs that you'll be contravening, just know they're probably pulling their feed from somewhere else (don't ask me how to find these sites cos I really don't know).

About getting your domain deindexed, you'd be unlucky if it takes less than a month, so having duplicate content for a few days isn't going to kill your site, get some original (not spun) content on every now and again and you'll likely be ok.

One last thing, I don't think Toby's guide is about clicking your mouse few times, and slapping a couple of keys on your keyboard, then listing on flippa and pocketing $100, making money does actually take a bit of work.

This i completely agree with, i don't spin articles, and my rss feeder is set to a max of 30 posts, so it imports them and schedules them across 30 days, be it 5 feeds of 30 posts or 100 feeds of 30 posts, it will only post 30, which over a mont gives more than enough time to optimise yourself in term of handwritten content.

Always leave the rss post intact, wordpress blog authors know their feeds will be syndicated, they leave sources and track backs, as we set up in our Yoast SEO plugin.

I appreciate your comments bro, and be it that they may be constructive, you're jumping the gun, we cover hand-written and round-up articles on day 3, link is up there.

By day 10, we will have a polished site ready for market, i'm not in the business of selling a dead horse, every site we build, be it for a guide or for a client, is built to a spec of a site i would personally use and personally market - We don't plan to cut corners or drop a potentially "broken" site (seo-wise) on our clients, or on the hard working buyers of flippa.

Bottom line, over 10 days we are creating a website from $15 that will have a market value of atleast $100, don't jump the gun bro, wait till you read the rest, on day 10, i'll PM you and we can make amendments together if you have knowledge to lend.

This is after all, a community effort.

For sure man, I realise that at this point you were only a fifth of the way into your guide, and I appreciate what you're doing.
Those comments weren't directed at you or your guide, my intention was not to imply that your site is now complete and ready for sale by any means, they were aimed at those who think they can now set up an autoblog and spin some articles and sit back and make bank, the type who desperately try to find lazy ways of doing things, strive for mediocrity, you know what I'm saying. Even the blackhat churn and burn guys put in the long hours.

I also attempted to address the deindexing concerns, which is where I think it sounds like I'm saying you can add content and then be finished, I only meant adding some original content will prevent a site from being deindexed, not specifically referring to this guide just duplicate content sites in general.

I apologise for maybe a slight hijack, this actually doesn't have much to do with your guide, and to anyone else who might think my previous post was saying things are complete.
Cheers

If you simply throw up an autoblog and just leave it then that's what will happen.
Obviously that's not what Toby is doing here in his guide.
