That's a nice sale.

Tablets must be a big deal in tuvalu!

Maybe there are, just like they are in most other countries all around the world...

If the only individuals buying a TLD are speculators then yes one should be cautious - the reason why I have not yet purchased even one new TLD domain. But if end users are buying aftermarket domains in a TLD and branding on them it is time to wake up. That could also potentially be applied to .CO which has surprised some domainers. I don't hold any .CO but perhaps I should consider acquiring a few if the right keyword/price opportunity presents itself.

as we wrote, Verisign would not take the tld to promote it as tuvalu cctld but for generic videocentric purposes

The brand of .tv is so strong that most of people think .tv was actually created for television related sites :)

As more individuals and entities learn that .tv was conceived for, and is the official ccTLD for Tuvalu, then that will change. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if some smart gTLD applicant applied for a gTLD specifically for television-based use. The migration from .tv to the new television gTLD could be fast, for sure.

Enjoy the current perversion of the .tv ccTLD while you can, because it's probably temporary.

At this point we al know where the extension is from and some of us understand .tv sites can be set to 'global' via webmaster tools so continued trolling seems like wasted energy?
~
Is heynow trolling the .co and .me threads or are we just special ?
~
If Joe Public see's a .tv site and gets video content or some form of streaming i doubt they really care about the extensions location or true meaning, you see, even without trolls the world keeps spinning, funny that

One nice feature of the new board - it has an ignore feature that doesn't even show the ignored posts with the usual 'post ignored' display. The only way you know a certain troll is trolling is by other people responding to their posts.

"Joe Public" is a poor example.

"Joe Public" aint Major League Baseball, or NBC, or any other major entity that uses .tv for "television." Those major entities is what makes the phenomenon so interesting. Joe Public doesn't give a crap about it - it's cute, it works, it's easy to remember, etc.

I respect your opinion, and you are certainly entitled to it. I post nothing but the truth about the topic at hand. Like it or not, .tv stands for Tuvalu. You can buy into the imaginary meaning and use of "television," but anything but Tuvalu is not official, but rather pretend. Yes, lots of entities, including Major League Baseball, are pretending it stands for "television," and I wish them and you success. But I truly feel that luster will wane after a series of inevitable events occurs.

You have your opinion and is respectable, it can also be right. But if you post the same thing in all the threads you're trolling.
Simple that. Maybe .tv is only Tuvalu and you're right, but what's the point in writing it in every post?

Well, you are not respecting his opinion at all.
As more individuals and entities learn that .tv was conceived for, and is the official ccTLD for Tuvalu, then that will change.
Yes, they may know that, but it doesn't matter at all, since millions of internet users do not know or have accepted the .tv as television.
Also, I wouldn't be surprised if some smart gTLD applicant applied for a gTLD specifically for television-based use. The migration from .tv to the new television gTLD could be fast, for sure.
And what it can be? .tv is the shortest alternative. I don't know if .video exists.
Enjoy the current perversion of the .tv ccTLD while you can, because it's probably temporary.
Temporary or not it will last very long.

Yes, great sale for tablet.Tuvalu. What a great addition to a domain collection for $13,000.00. No wasted money there, not for a domain name with great relevance. Tablets in Tuvalu are huge! Remember, dot-TV (.tv) is the country code domain (ccTLD) for the third-world, island nation of Tuvalu. Makes sense here!

While a couple of participants here label me a troll, and they read into my posts for hidden meanings, I just thought I'd remind all of you that my original post for the sale of table.tv was enthusiastic for the sale, and positive for the buyer. I stated "No wasted money there ...," and " What a great addition to a domain collection for $13,000.00."

So obviously a couple of mind-readers here read into my post for hidden meaning other than the written word. I even added, "Makes sense here!"

So before I am again lambasted and referred to as a "troll," I'd like to see the credentials of the mind readers here who think they know about the hidden truths to my posts. How arrogant of them.

I appreciate your posts and wouldn't call you a troll - or even a complete and utter idiot for that matter. I certainly wouldn't call you annoying or complete fucktard either.

I too would also like to know the large number of .TV investors that think you are an annoying troll but unfortunately many of them won't post their true feelings towards you.
