If picking the top ten domains from this list is too much work for you, then maybe you can pick the top five or even the top three. :)

Thanks, Ojohn

So no value on any of them.

I see little or no potential for any [gtld+keyword] dotcoms. The highest reported sale of a domain containing the sequence [tld] was shadytld.com $7800 March 2007 Snapnames. Shady ... hehe ... halvarez ... it's now available to hand reg.
#2 tld.org $3955 August 2010 Namejet
#3 tldregistry.com $3399 Sept 2009 Sedo

Go big (gtld dotcom or gtlds dotcom) or go home.
fwiw ... available to hand reg:

What determines the value or usefulness of these domains will be how the upcoming New gTLDs are going to be advertised and promoted by the major registries and registrars, if they are called gTLDs as a class then my domains might have better potentials.

I agree with you that in the past people have not given these type of domains much attention, but I am looking forward to the near future when hundreds or even thousands of New gTLDs are going to be released. My domains might make some sense if all those new extensions are referred to and are promoted as a group.

PS: gTLD stands for "generic Top Level Domain"

Thanks for everyone's opinions anyway.

Anyone else :)

In my opinion taking a stab at developing gTLDguide.com or maybe the parking one is ok, but regging the whole list is money wasted. Goodluck

Thanks for your response,

It's not really a waste of money if I can get five good domains out of this list that can be of some good use.

Need more responses to determine what stands out from my list. :)

Your scenario is possible but I don't see 'gTLD' snowballing into a big ad keyword. TLD and gTLD are mature acronyms. Look at godaddy home page. You won't find TLD there, never mind gTLD. Look at donuts.co home page. TLD is mentioned 4 times and gTLD once. Google TLD or gTLD and you'll see ad buyers displaying restraint. If things go your way and godaddy, donuts and peers push gTLDs as a class, the prefix 'new' strikes me as a necessary critical SLD component.

My picks from your list
1) gtldguide
2) gtldbackorders
3) gtldseller

Good luck!

42 X 8.25 = 346.5

I am sure there members of this forum that would gladly sell you a name with intrinsic value for $350

This is a classic case of better to sharp shoot one name than regging a huge list and hoping something sticks. If there extremely fresh regs see if you can get your money back (on at least some)

You are right if someone wants to spend $3500 then it is probably best to get one really good domain, but for $350 I believe that anticipating future trends has a better risk to reward ratio.

Now if someone can find a premium domain cheap that doesn't have TM or other issues then they should certainly consider that over some untested or uncertain category.

Now please lets get back to piking the top domains out of my list. :)

Sure, but not when you take this risk by buying the names you've listed. You've made a mistake. This was not a very wise investment, if you can even call it an investment. This thread shouldn't even be in the Domain Appraisals section.

you don't have the credentials to pass such judgements, all these domains cannot be a mistake, some might be a little bit iffy, but then that's why I am asking for help to sort them out.

It seems like you are in the habit of going around appraisal threads and putting everyone's domains down just to make yourself look like an expert, but based on your join date to this forum it is a mistake for you to make such expert calls about domains that you don't know for sure how they are going to turn out in the future.

Nevertheless you are entitled to having your own opinion and I am not telling you that you have to think any differently just that it's a mistake to so confidently pass judgement on other people's domains when you haven't been here long enough to know everything there is to know about domains.

This thread shouldn't even be in the Domain Appraisals section.

I don't think that it's your place to make such calls.

Anymore opinions,

constructive opinions that is. :)

arrogance;

I don't know what could be so arrogant about that.

Nevertheless lets put this thread back on track, the best way to help me now is to point out the domains that you think stand out from the list.

If you think that none of them are good then just say that none stands out in your opinion, but don't tell me that they are all mistakes because that is not what I asked for here.

Hello OldTimer,

Interesting selection of names you have amassed for the coming waves of new extensions etc. I went through the list and picked out 10 names that I thought posed the most potential in my eyes for development/business related. Now the names are not listed in the order of importance more just how the ended up upon filtering them etc. I think you have a few good names in the mix but as with any trends it could be gold or silver...time will tell.

gTLDbackorder.com
gTLDbackorders.com
gTLDdirect.com
gTLDguide.com
gTLDguidelines.com
gTLDguru.com
gTLDparking.com
gTLDpreorder.com
gTLDpreorders.com
gTLDreport.com

Now I wanted to give a bit of feedback on a each of them and my reasoning etc. Gtldbackorder/s I chose because I think at some point in the future there will be a service for this and it'lll be a great fit upon that day. Direct sounds to me like a good company name to help businesses get their respective gtld. If I had to be pinned down on the best 2 names of the list it would be Guide/Guidelines....the vast majority of queries for the coming future I can imagine will be of the question sort rather then purchasing....for example how much, where, who, etc type searches on these gtlds. Guru to me sounds like a good name as it would be brandable for someone who knows lots about these extensions and would take the time to explain and help others. Preorder/s well...kinda self explanatory but how one would set it up is beyond me....Which brings me to reports....Now this name would be great for analytical type information which as I referenced earlier will be huge in the publics interest for the first I'd say 2 or 3 years if not longer.

I know it's long winded and probably not grammatically or punctuation perfect but it's 1 am and it's been a long day so pardon me ;)

Btw I think you did ok ....I see far worse on drop lists daily and appraisals requests as well!

Good luck with your names and may the tides of change bless you :)

Cheers

If you had to choose between singular and plural versions of these domains which ones would you pick.

Most people in here would prefer the singular version.
That's my conclusion after reading some comments in here :)

It's a specialist market and the major players are using brandable domains:
DirectI, Sendari, Minds+Machines etc
Even in our industry the string gTLD in domain names is not a popular choice (see post #10).

I will pick only one:
gTLDexpress.com

It sounds like an okay domain for corporate end users looking to set up and outsource their own branded TLD. You know, like the online incorporations :)

However, note that gTLD means generic top level domain, and newer extensions like .biz .pro .aero .cat are in fact sTLDs (sponsored extensions). So TLD would be better than gTLD (a bit less narrow in scope). Here lies the weakness. From a branding POV these names are not very sexy.

There are other like
gTLDtrade.com
gTLDtrades.com
gTLDtransfer.com
that don't make a lot of sense, I would not renew them. They probably won't be snagged upon expiry but who knows. But it's their problem, not yours anymore.

I don't see a lot of value in the portfolio any more. It's best to own one good domain, and I would choose another string component.
Good luck.

Just putting my 2 cents in.
I think singular vs plural depends a lot on the words in it and thus what somebody would look for.
For example, if I'm bored and wanted some entertainment in the form of videos or pictures, I'd obviously look for the plural forms.
However, if I'm looking for a way to test my intelligence, I'd look for IQ test and not IQ tests.

As for these keywords, I'd go with the singular versions, which is backed up by the fact exact searches for those keywords in the singular forms (without gTLD added) are in the thousands (even10k+), but less than a thousand for the plural versions.

If you liked gTLDexpress.com then you got to like gTLDdirect.com too. :)

Now that I've got these domains I think I'll wait and see how the New gTLD program is going to unfold, maybe by renewal time next year I'll have a better idea which one of these domains is worth hanging on to. Meanwhile I might try to get some action going with gTLDguide.com and gTLDpreorder.com (or I might use TLDpreorder.com which I also own), I just have to wait and see what terms are going to be used more often by the registries and registrars, I have a feeling that people are going to talk about gTLDs (or TLDs in some cases) a lot more in the near future. :)

Thanks for taking the time to respond,

gTLD domains

Now that gTLDforum and gTLDattorney have sold at the traffic auction and that gTLD domains are getting some love from the domain king I wonder if people here feel any differently about the potentials for my domains.

If I were to send a few of them to the next traffic auction, which ones do you all think have the best potential.

Thanks, Ojohn

PS: These domains are currently open to offers if anyone is interested in buying any of them. Certain terms and conditions apply, all rights reserved.
