It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it. B-)

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

What do you think about my Apps.pro ?

I would have bid up to $4,000, because I know that the domain is worth more.

Oh many multiples surely. And if you can monetize it via development and direct sales, you're going to make many multiples of your cost each and every month, if not week.

Congrats, great purchase, I didn't even know it was up for auction, not that I'd have outbid you. ;)

It's purchases such as these that people will look back in a few years and thunk their heads over. :tu:

I think just the fact that .pro is growing with many registrants in other languages is huge! I think there is a strong chance that .pro is going to grow into a significant extension in the next few years. To that effect, the extension is growing without any real noticeable marketing plan from the registry itself.

What were to happen if they adopted an actual significant marketing effort behind .pro?

What do you think about my Apps.pro ?

I like it, I think if you shop it around to iPhone App makers I bet you could get a quick 200-300% return on your investment as a quick flip. Probably much more if you take your time and contact more.

BTW, does it sometimes happen to you that you try out a good name, thinking "Oh, that's already taken, of course; wonder who's got that?". And when you do a lookup, surprise, surprise: It's yourself! :red:

Just had that experience, and not for the first time. I either have too many domains, or I'm getting old. :rolleyes:

Did you pick it up Kuli? Thanks for posting I was wondering how it had gone.

Told you I'd lose !!! And that's why I no longer gamble ... except on the 10,000 Pros I bought.

Sorry Siga. That was meant for Kuli.

Hi superbiz75

This may not be the best time to sell. You're probably going to have to renew them and hold for awhile. Now is more the time to buy. But they are nice names ... especially Naples. Hold tight.

Best of luck to you !!

I'm amazed that you can still find great premium .pro domains out there. seems the .pro landrush is increasing because i notice many being registered daily. I just picked up:

remember.pro
recall.pro
toothbrush.pro

people must be catching wind of the price drop to 9.99

My best .pro domain is MEDIC.PRO

It will be nice to hear your valuation
of this one.
It was registered in year 2006!

my valuations are pretty reserved at this point. I think medic.pro is a good one, but I'm personally in a waiting period as it could take a few years for .pro to really to catch on. Though there is certainly a real increase in activity recently.

This is a time lapse video of one of the tornadoes that came through North Carolina the other day. This video was taken from the 30th floor of a building in downtown Raleigh. The tornado is basically moving from the southwest to the northeast. As the video begins it is about one mile south of my house. It felt like it was a lot closer. I've been through one hurricane. These winds felt more intense.

Three people were killed in Raleigh. All three were children.

My best .pro domain is MEDIC.PRO

I hold Medicine.pro. I had an expression of interest last week from an Australian guy I sold Surgeon.pro and Surgery.pro to but we couldn't agree a price.

Medicine.mobi sold for $21,839, Medicine.info sold for $25,000, and Medicine.org sold for $80,000 so I thought it was worth more than the low $X,XXX he was offering.

What do you think about my:
-> checkers <-
-> croquet <-
-> tycoon <-
-> steward <-
(.pro)?
Thanks.

Some thoughtful registrations. Checkers.ca sold for $1,550. There was alot of bidding interest for Chess.pro when it dropped at Snapnames a while back. I like 3 things about Croquet.pro; it is a game so works well with .pro branding, the Cro rhymes with Pro, and Croquet is played by people who are well off which ties in with the whole professional, upmarket image of .pro. Tycoon.pro is brandable for wealth management, investment, stokc trading, get rich quick websites, and there are alot of those. I see the professional angle with Steward.pro, not sure the keyword is popular enough to sell in .pro but you never know. I hold Trust.pro which is a similar theme, you trust professionals and they can act as your trustee or steward.

I'm amazed that you can still find great premium .pro domains out there. seems the .pro landrush is increasing because i notice many being registered daily. I just picked up:

remember.pro
recall.pro
toothbrush.pro

people must be catching wind of the price drop to 9.99

There are 3 types of .pro that sell. Blockbuster keywords that will sell in any extension. For example, I sent Coupons.pro to auction at Sedo today. Secondly, professional context keywords, like Surgeon.pro and Surgery.pro, end users love them and end users pay more than domainers. Finally, domains where there is a strong Pro branding context, for example, I have sold Local.pro as in (find a local professional) Perfect.pro (perfect professional). I'm not convinced there is much value in Toothbrush.pro. A dentist might register or buy Bright.pro, Tooth.pro, Orthodontist.pro but I can't see them registering Toothbrush.pro. Again, Remember.pro has no particular use, it's just a dictionary word. What is premium in .com isn't premium in .pro, a genuine .pro premium keyword is a tiny subset of what works in .com. There is logic in Medic.pro or Checkers.pro but I can't see the same logic in Remember.pro.

Medicine.mobi sold for $21,839

Great information! Thanks Andrew! I can't believe that a mobi sold for $21,000. I think I might need to take a closer look at my portfolio.
