Thanks for the rep :)

Yeah, there is more to it than just the domain but the price still looks a tad too high IMO.

Bargain sale.

If they use them properly, they could do 10x in revenue in a few years.

And the sale was for a lot - "Moniker has sold Tshirts.com and four other related domains prior to Wednesday’s auction for $1.265 million. The domains include tee-shirts.com, t-shirt.com, t-shirts.com, and tees.com."

Someone is cornering the market it would seem and agree with samit a total bargain in the long run. Very good on the buyer and seller!

In the long run, I suppose.

I'd choose tees.com over tshirts.com but that just might be me.

I actually commented on this when it came up for sale, on Patrick's FB post. :talk:

Said it would sell for sure a couple of weeks before it did. :sold:

Ya, he's a broker with them.. Well, If he was talking up the sale up I bet he's collecting a commission check. :gl:

As far as the sales price, I think that for the five domains it was a solid, worthwhile investment. T-shirts are one of those products that will always be in demand. No fads or trends to try and figure out when these domains will reach max value.

The price sounds ok to me, wouldn't say it is stunning price for those names, certainly respectable though.

Nice, and interesting, sale/buy.

A couple months back I got a 10k (email) offer on TshirtsTV.com. I said Thanks, but No. And went on to explain that I really don't want to sell it... and if I do put it on the market I would likely pair it with JeansTV.com, as I think they are worth more together. It took them 3 days to reply with 'no, we are only interested in Tshirts'.

Any predictions on what TshirtsTV.com might sell for Samit?

I haven't researched it so I could be missing something but tshirtstv.com doesn't look like it's worth $2. I'd have taken the $10,000 offer and laughed myself hoarse all the way to the bank. Is there something about the domain that I'm unaware of? Only the .com is regged and the other ext were never registered. I think you did a grave mistake not taking the offer.

Considering you had to "scratch your head" at the tshirts.com sale -clearly you are "missing something". One thing you shoulda picked-up on was the name set were all .com... somewhat negating the value of the other extensions and certainly making the tv.com, of the premium name in the set, worth more than $2. (I'm scratching my head why someone repped you:-/ )

What am I missing? With concerns over the tshirts.com sale, I wasn't 'missing' anything. It all just didn't quite seem seven-figure-worthy to me. But we all have opinions. Is your argument that they sold as they had because they were all .com? lol

Your domain is worth about $10 max to me since I could reg the .net for cheaper than that. But again, it's just opinion.

What the?? Personally I wouldn't have thought the name is worth anything, before or after this latest sale, would be emailing them back ASAP.

I'd have taken 10k for tshirtstv[.]com and laughed all the way to the bank tbh.

Don't see how the tv.com makes sense with this term.

But then there is a lot I don't understand in this business. :D

Archangel, clearly the buyers saw more value in a set of .coms, than a 'domain suite'.

And, clearly, the buyers, and I, see some value, that your 'missing'... but, like you said, we all have opinions. But when it comes to their money, and my domain, I'm sure you'll agree... your opinion is just worth 'two cents', max, to you.

I would have sold it, snoop, Samit, had I thought the interest in, and the value of, the name would be going down. But, IMO, the value of the name space just went up. And I'm confident the value will increase in the coming years, especially with names for the two best selling apparel items in history -and the rapid rise of online tv.

Without getting deep into touch, gesture and voice controls... where folks will soon say what they want and the medium they want it on, then make gestures to virtually try things on. I'll just say tshirts, jeans and tv are a global culture and those cool tv ads are moving online in a big way.

Besides, had I sold for 10k a few months back I would be kicking myself right now. The fact that you don't see any value in tshirts tv (.com), then or now, well, that's you snoop. Personally, I think thats sad. But that's me.

Then again I am aware of a company called T Shirt TV that has folks walking around with tv screens built into t-shirts promoting movie trailers, working conventions, sporting events etc.. They gotta be making 5k an outing, and I suspect they made the offer.

For me... this big sale is my cue to develop and launch TshirtsTV.com.

I assume I was right in that I'm not missing anything. Nothing you've said makes the domain's value appear to be more than reg fee WITH THE EXCEPTION that you found another person who, just like you, saw something in this domain. You've learned it pretty well, I take it: the true value of a domain is whatever ppl would be willing to shell out for it. So although I (and a few others here) see little to no value in this domain, you and a potential buyer do. I suppose that is truly all that matters.

Realistically though, if the net/org/info/us etc are all available and have never been registered, then I really fail to see how your .com is worth much. The offer you received was likely a non-serious offer or was a fluke that you'll likely never see again.

BTW Why did you being in the tshirts.com thing? I knew it was a .com set. *rolls eyes*

I most always appreciate honest opinions, so if thats honestly what I got, Thanks for the input.

I think when a keyword.com domain sells for a million, the same keywordtv.com is not likely to sell at reg fee. I am actually a bit surprised to hear "experienced domainers" say otherwise, just as I am surprised to hear the same voices say Tshirts don't relate to TV.

Its been said... "you have a right to your opinions, but you don't have a right to your own facts".

Yeah, the offer to buy TshirtsTV.com "was likely a non-serious offer or was a fluke that I'll likely never see again". *roll eyes*

And, as evidenced by this '.com set' sale, as well as the T-ShirtTV.com domain buy... where they went with a dash instead of going with any of the 'other extensions'. These are marketing and sales businesses who have bought-up just about every possible tshirt .com configuration because they see the .com brand as THE 'first string' player. In short, they do not care to brand themselves as a 'second string' player.

Million dollar sales have a way of attracting other players into the space so I expect the other extensions to fill-up as the new .com teams take the field.

Apologies if I sounded mean by my last reply. My intention wasn't malicious. That said: I've noticed that tshirttv.com is taken in every major ext yet tshirtstv.com only has the .com regged. tshirttv.com/.net/.org are owned by the same ppl; the info/biz/us, the same (the domains are parked). It's a strange thing, indeed. I still see no major good in the domain but truly, good luck with it.

I most always appreciate honest opinions, so if thats honestly what I got, Thanks for the input.
