So to be sure this represents search traffic, not domain registrations?

I'm changing my tune to switch back to .com because that's what we all "voted" for just like we all "voted" for eBay to be the place to sell stuff, not Yahoo, etc. auctions. Even though I wish someone would compete with eBay successfully, it's not going to happen similarly to how the new gTLD's can't compete with .com.

Even though I wish someone would compete with eBay successfully, it's not going to happen similarly to how the new gTLD's can't compete with .com.

Represents page 1 Google results on 10,000 different searches, more:

"Pete Meyers took a look at page 1 Google results for 10,000 queries, which yielded 93,315 URLs, and here's how the TLDs broke down by rank/percentage.

I've included multi-part "TLDs", like .co.uk, .il.us, etc. as distinct TLDs. Please note that this is not a measure of the ranking potential of these TLDs - just of how they currently appear in SERP real estate. All searches were conducted from US IPs (so, this is not indicative of international results). The phrases in this set represent a variety of lengths and volumes, but are in English and tend to be commercial in nature. All TLDs in the list occurred at least one - some percentages were just too small to display at two decimal places."

Interesting find and surprising to see .us is almost twice as large as .info.
