I won't touch anything from China... I have nothing against the people of China, but generally speaking, the country seems to be very unstable and the government is corrupt. I don't like to invest money into unstable environments. Many years ago I saw that movie "Blow" with Johnnie Depp and PeeWee Herman. Johnnie had million$ in a bank account in Grenada (I believe), and then one day the government seized it all. Sure he was transporting and distributing copious amounts of cocaine in order to make that money, but still, that would definitely suck. Wake up one day and find that everything is gone. Not my idea of fun :)

I agree with this though.

Am not too bullish about cn domains as I don't understand the local language(s).

Haha, I guess you did get me there. I can't act like the US government isn't corrupt... But... They're corrupt in a status-quo sort of way...

Seriously? that would be a hard life. :)

Back to topic and lets focusing on domains, .cn is one of the top 3 most popular ccTLDs in the world.

Google always helps out:

let's search site:.cn - 314,000,000 results
let's search site:.com.cn - 498,000,000 results

.cn works really well but honestly it is not that easy for foreign domainers to invest in. You should know Pinyin .cn works much better than English dictionary word in Chinese market. That's why lots of foreign domainers are curious why there are so many decent dictionary word .cn still available (actually, after the 1.00 CNY/.cn reg promotion, not that much left atm). Issues always exist in all ccTLDs, not only in China. At least CNNIC won't seize 1 char domains from owners like .la does.

Frankly, there is only one thing does let me down, some of .cn domainers regged lots of Trademarked domains and take this as their domaining strategy.

PS. I will fly back to my home country next week for holiday, and welcome to China :) Live in China for a while, travel to China, get to know some Chinese friend in real life, these would be the best ways to put down your bias.

BTW: Please ignore most parts of OP's thread. It mostly like a standard spam.

Well I was obviously referring to domain names, as I realize that most everything in the world is made in China.

And I don't feel that I have a bias. As I stated, I have absolutely nothing against the people of China. Just that from an investment standpoint, it doesn't seem like a stable situation that I would want to get involved with.
