Contest End Date & Time : Feb. 28th 9pm EST But my previous contests have all ended early. No surprise, considering the talent here on NP!

Size Requirements : Vector.... will be a forum logo, and will finalize the size with winning designer.

Color Requirements : none.... as of now!

General Requirements : I want it to depict a warm and accepting place to share stories, information and support

Additional Information : The logo will be for a forum: Obese \dot\ net The forum will be for overweight people to connect, share stories/goals/tips and the discussion of obesity, health etc by overweight people and anyone interested or involved personally or privately with the topic.

holeinone: there WILL be a website.... a forum for overweight people or people personally/professionally involved with the topic of obesity.

fionna45in: while i dont intend to keep it "exclusive", i imagine the average user will be either extremely overweight, related to someone that is or working in the field of health/dieting/fitness etc, and there for networking/support etc.

sirEdeonX: nice first entry! i like the play off a "smaller" person inside, although it might be a bit cliche..... not to give up on that direction altogether, but perhaps some other ideas as well?

- i find the the .net really fits the idea of this being a supportive forum very well and would really like to see some ideas playing off of this... a net(work) that can catch even the heaviest..... like interlaced, thicker arms etc.....

kairys- thanks for the submission. i am looking for something more than just the domain written out though. also, not to sure about "bubble" effect for this....

a few ideas that i have (But i have always been impressed with the creativity and ideas that the designers here have come up with spontaneously, so don't take these ideas as "only" what i am after/will consider):

perhaps something with the overlapping silhouettes of heavy set people (using thin, graceful lines though) to convey the "you are not alone"/community/socializing and networking possibilities the forum offers. light, easy and friendly colors.

or something playing off the ".net" in a fun and interesting way as it represents a forum/network of overweight people.

sf2010- thanks for the entry! to be honest, i wouldn't have seen the symbol as 4 hearts had you not mentioned it.... more like a flower or something. the lettering is nice, elegant and simple though.

more and more i am seeing the background filled with different size and shaped heavy-framed silhouettes (using thin, elegant lines and maybe a variety of light, complimenting colors?)..... anybody want to give that a go?

thanks, fiona45in, for taking a stab at the idea i had in mind and using different colors etc! however, i'm thinking "simple is more", with just elegant outlines of a bit more person-like rather than cartoonish. doesn't have to be full outlines, can be overlapping or halves that fade out etc, with more people as well, close and far away, giving the impression that an obese person is, indeed, by no means alone.... and that here is a great place to connect and share etc....

but again, that's just the idea that "I" see right now, i am NOT fixated on it nor insisting that it is the only design concept that i am interested in. i am ALWAYS open to a different perspective and spin on how to portray the forum as a great place to learn and connect with other people on the subject of obesity...... sp

Here's my entry, I added the "work" to .net, I have done this before and the purpose is so the people will remember the name alot easier and also to let them know it's a network.

Zepia- VERY nice! so far, my favorite. the image is cool, but (although i can't place it atm) reminds me of another branded image. maybe i'm just imagining, but seems familiar/too similar to something. otherwise, i like the tagline and the addition of work as a reflection. the colors are indeed light and friendly, but will give some thought to possible color changes as well. A great entry and nice concept.

I still would like to see something with thin-lined "human" silhouettes in the background, of various overweight shapes and sizes....

I appreciate you submitting an entry, however there are a few things with your current design that miss what i am after: your symbol is MUCH to similar to zepia's (which already reminds me of another branded icon). The red lightning looks like it is eating the person.... probably not ideal for a forum where eating is a central theme. And, last but not least, the font is not (imho) friendly or warm..... again, i appreciate you taking a stab at it and would certainly consider any other designs you care to submit, but this one misses the spirit of what i am looking for..... cheers, sp

umxa- i like this one much more.... however, the people look to "typical/generic", and like they are in line for the toilet or something.... and the .net is too faint, undermining the importance of this being a network for support and information etc.... but overall the design is more warm and elegant, i see definite potential here and look forward to any revisions you possibly make!

marcello- welcome to the contest and thanks for your design! this is REALLY along the lines of what i was suggesting, with a heavy set, outlined silhouette..... thanks! however the silhouette is still a bit too undefined, more of a blob than a person. i DO like the placement though.... also, maybe a few more people in background, in different shades or colors?
