alert Your Name May Be Listed on FreeSiteWorth Without You Knowing It

Spaceship Spaceship
FreeSiteWorth.com seems to be doing a good job of pissing a lot of people off at one time. Several people are receiving emails like Namepros member @Nerevar.
Hello [my name and surname here],

We believe http://KABUKI.ORG has a great potential to be sold on freesiteworth.com. We have listed it on your behalf for free, so you can reach out thousands of potential buyers: http://flip.freesiteworth.com/listings/8670/KABUKIORG-is-a-domain-for-sale

To take ownership of the listing, please login as KABUKI and retrieve your password using the following link: http://flip.freesiteworth.com/users/forgotpassword

If you want your listing removed, please follow http://flip.freesiteworth.com/unsubscribe.php?url=KABUKI.ORG&auth=588b4bd4aa61c234b76f0e0133b0bd1d.

Note: This is not an auction website, potential buyers will directly contact you in case they are interested in your website and you both can deal with the payment. We do not charge any selling fees. We recommend that you update the description to attract more buyers.

Best Regards,
FreeSiteWorth.com

I received a couple emails over the last few days from readers of TLDinvestors.com who also received this email, along with a few other domainers.

On top of everything else, these names are being listed with a Buy It Now price that the domain owner did not set. I doubt many transactions will take place but there still is a risk that a decent name get listed there, someone clicks Buy It Now, and then tarnishes your name as not honoring the transaction.

There are currently 1,322 websites listed on the site and 2,138 domain names. This website needs to stop what they are doing as I believe someone is going to take legal action if they do not.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Got that same email, just clicked remove the name and didn't even visit their site. And the most stupid thing was that it was for a domain where the auction has just ended on Flippa.

Glad you brought this up Raymond, this is so illegal, I received an email yesterday and was going to reply but and looking into the background. Deleted the name from the database apparently, but haven't checked for other names yet!
Howie.

A blog post about something that has been discussed and shown on NP a few times.
Complete with emails, etc etc etc.

That's correct as the core component of the NamePros blog is to reach outside the site, the post shows up on Domaining.com and many people that don't visit everyday or are not members come to the site.

The blog is more about those not here everyday than it is for those on the site 14 hours a day. Shares on social media build traffic as well and 340 views in 90 minutes is not bad.

Does clicking "remove" get you entered into their "lets collect and sell these emails" list?

Good point, they know you reading it, I really don't get their end game as they say there are no fees on a name that sells. At least spammers got a chance to make money vs pissing people off, this seems like they are just pissing people off.

Facebook is for sale for just shy of $70 billion.

Looks like they're adding all sites. Domainers aren't the only target.

I would love to see a sale being enforced, and then a lawsuit for non-performance of contract :)

I've received numerous emails related to this, but never click on anything. It reminds me of the old spam days when you would click an unsubscribe link, only to have your email now added to a new list which is then probably sold off to a dozen other people, increasing the number of spam emails you get ten-fold.

Completely illegal and someone will eventually take them to court and likely get things shut down. Let them keep listing big websites like Facebook and they're highly-paid lawyers will do the work. I don't have a large legal team behind me to take care of it. They won't get as much as a unique visit from me. On this one I think I'll just sit back and let one of the bigger companies take care of it. It's only a matter of time!

Btw...who's going to go and contact Facebook to pass the auction link for that along? Someone should do it and that will likely speed up the process :) Once they become aware of it things will probably move pretty quickly!
