Following a recent DomainGang article listing Rick’s latest domain registrations, investors have been discussing the new additions to Rick’s portfolio.

Prompting a Domain Owner to Renew: How Do You Feel?
Every day, thousands of domain names expire. Usually, these expirations are intentionally executed due to the owner simply not wanting to own that name anymore, but sometimes names can expire due to other circumstances.
A recent example is that of Jane Pantalone, who passed away leaving some valuable blockchain domain names behind. Thanks to the efforts of @wwwweb, many of these names were renewed and kept by the Pantalone family.
In this discussion, @Grilled documents a recent expired auction in which they notified the domain’s original owner that the valuable name was about to expire, which prompted the owner to renew.
From a domain investor’s point of view, is this practice something that should be encouraged?
