Is Parking .XYZ Domains Worth It?

At the moment, the .XYZ extension is the trending TLD of the domain industry. With both investor and end-user sales published to NameBio and various domaining blogs daily, it’s no surprise that many investors are adding .XYZ to their portfolios.

With more interest in the extension, it’s only natural for domainers to have questions. In this case, one investor has noticed that they receive many visitors every month, but is parking .XYZ domains the right way to go?

Input Sought: Investor Stress and Wellness

Domaining is a predominantly solitary venture that often involves hours spent sitting and staring at a screen. The constant 24/7 nature of domain investing can lead to both physical and mental wellbeing problems.

This isn’t a topic that is highlighted very often, but blogger Bob Hawkes is researching this very subject for an upcoming article. Here, he wants domainer contributions on the subject of how you deal with stress as a domain investor.

I vs l in Domain Marketplace Listings

Many domain investors look at thousands of potential domain purchases every day, whether that’s on marketplaces or expiring auctions. Even for experienced investors, it's easy to be fooled every so often by typos.

One investor is warning others about the I versus l confusion. In some marketplace listings, a capital “I” and a lowercase “L” are almost indistinguishable. It was likely this that led someone to pay $194 for Lnvestor.xyz earlier this month. This discussion contains practical tips on how to avoid making this kind of error.

Thanks a lot for mentioning the request for input regarding mental wellness and domain investing, @James Iles .

The l vs I confusion is so easy to be tricked by. I wish all marketplaces either gave both upper and lowercase, or used a font where capital I and small l were not identical.

Thanks again for the great rundown.

Really interesting threads this week. @abstractdomainer asked a very good question how a domainer can get to $ 5000 monthly which is my favourite thread this week. It's so important to have targets otherwise you can't judge success and failure. Working backwards from a target to your current position it becomes a question of how you fill in the blanks. More threads should be published about this to help more domainers become full-timers. @Bob Hawkes also has a good question about mental wellness. I generally think mental wellness also comes back to having targets and working out a logical process to achieve them. Domainer stress is more manageable with a plan of action. This leads to more in-depth analysis and less frustration. And again @Intop's question about how many hours you spend on domaining daily comes back to time management which comes back to project management which comes back to targets and how you achieve them. All three threads are related. Domainer earning. Domainer mental wellness. Domainer time management. What I like about this is if you take action from these three threads you can actually make real progress on your domaining journey. Have a good weekend.
