Whilst the Chinese domain market may be down in the past few months, I've received four offers on a four character (LLNN) .COM domain name within the past 24 hours. These four offers are from four different people; three in China, and one in Thailand. I'm certainly not saying that this category of domain may be about to get an increase in price, but I find it curious that four offers have come in within 24 hours, when I've held the domain for five months without a single offer. Has anyone experienced anything similar recently?

Here is this week's Top Topics.

A Goodbye Post
This week, popular domain investor Shane Bellone announced that he is going to "take a step back" from the domain industry, after three years as an active investor. In that time, Shane has become a popular NamePros member and has been featured on a @DomainSherpa show, documenting his $10,000 sale of ITMagazine.com, which he bought for just $120 less than a month before.

According to this discussion, Shane will be concentrating on finishing his Bachelor's degree this summer before starting a Master's degree in the fall. We wish Shane the best of luck with whatever he chooses to do next.

I Would Stop Domaining If...

Before the very public news that one successful investor has quit the industry, another investor created a discussion asking you to complete the sentence "I would stop domaining if". The responses were varied, with financial targets being one of the most popular answers.

Do You Respond to All Inbound Enquiries?

Many domain investors receive regular enquiries on their prized domain names, but a very important question has been raised this week; do you respond to all enquiries? This question is specifically asking about "lowball" offers that may be offering $100 on a valuable $50,000 domain.

The opinions on this range from not answering any lowball offers to responding to all enquiries, no matter what their offer is. Do you respond to all offers? Has a lowball offer ever turned into a four, five or even six figure sale?

Eric Lyon's Texas RoadHouse Meetup

@Eric Lyon, NamePros' popular administrator, told the community of his recent meetup with domain investor @johnn, who travelled with his wife from Pennsylvania. Eric and his wife @Amanda met the travelling pair at Texas RoadHouse for steak and conversation.

Domainer meetups don't necessarily have to be at a preorganized event, they can be done anywhere and everywhere, and are a great way to make new connections within the industry.

Are You Making Money?

In the end, there is one driving factor behind domain investments, and that is money. Making money from domains allows you to build a better portfolio and to take money out of your investments for yourself. Many investors fail to make money, but are you?

In this discussion, many investors have told us how well, or not so well, they're doing with their domain investments. Are you making money with your own investments?
