Mark Cuban is one of America’s most famous entrepreneurs, thanks in part to his regular appearances on ABC’s Shark Tank. Aside from his media duties, he owns the Dallas Mavericks and has made investments in many companies including Morgan Linton’s software company Bold Metrics. Did you know he also has a portfolio of premium domain names? Thanks to DomainIQ, we were able to take a look through Mark Cuban’s portfolio of domain names, and we’ve picked our personal top ten. Practice.com This is a domain name that many companies would love to own, and it’s currently forwarding to Mark Cuban’s online shop. According to WHOIS history, Mark Cuban’s company has owned this domain name since 2012 after acquiring it from a high-tech business consulting company based in New Mexico. Replace.com Another great one-word .COM domain name that isn’t yet being fully utilized by Mark Cuban. Replace.com was purchased by Mark’s representatives at some point in 2013, and interestingly, it was used by a company called the Real Estate Place before that. They didn’t use the name as a one-word .COM but as a real estate acronym: REPlace.com. Scuffle.com Before being acquired by Mr. Cuban, Scuffle.com was parked. The name was owned by a domain investor with a vast portfolio of one-word domain names. As with all of Mark’s domain purchases so far, this name is forwarding to his online shop. Liable.com Legal domain names have been popular purchases among law firms and domain investors alike, with many legal names being sold for five and six figure sums, according to NameBio. Liable.com is a very versatile name that was acquired in 2014 from the same domain investor that sold Mark the scuffle.com domain name. Predictable.com Another purchase from 2014 was that of Predictable.com. Before the 2014 acquisition, the name was owned by an individual from California who held a very plain landing page on the domain for a couple of years. As with all of these domain names, no prices have been publicly revealed, so we can only speculate on possible prices. The domain name Predictable.io did sell in early 2017 for just over $2,600. Measurements.com This domain name is slightly different, only due to the fact that the domain name Measurements.com is currently parked, as opposed to being forwarded to Mark Cuban’s online shop. This generic quantification domain name was purchased in 2014 from Internet REIT, a now defunct Texas-based company that amassed a portfolio of 400,000 domain names just eighteen months after it had launched. Registered.com Registered.com doesn’t currently host a website, and it doesn’t forward to one of Mark’s existing properties. Like Liable.com and Predictable.com, the domain name Registered.com was acquired in 2014. It hasn’t been used by Mark since then. Perhaps he is simply acquiring a portfolio of valuable domain names? Startups.org The only domain name on this list that isn’t a .COM is this startups.org one. Considering the fact that Mark Cuban is in an excellent position to mentor and advise startups in return for a percentage equity, we can understand why startups.org is forwarding to Mark’s shop. However, we won't be surprised if it is used in the future to host a worthwhile project of a Mark Cuban company. Trying.com You won’t be surprised to hear by now that Trying.com was acquired in 2014, since the majority of Mark’s portfolio looks to have been purchased during that year. The domain was previously under privacy protection, but it was previously listed for sale on the domain aftermarket, so it is likely that it sold through a major sales venue, although no public sales record is available. Transactions.com This last one is an interesting one. The WHOIS listing shows that Transactions.com is owned by Mark Cuban, since the WHOIS registrant email address matches that of one of Mark’s employees. However, the domain name registrant organization is listed as First Place Internet Inc, which looks to have ties to Digimedia, a large domain portfolio owner.
