sales This Gmail Plugin Can Improve Your Outbound Domain Sales

NameSilo
Up until a few weeks ago, I had a few Gmail plugins that I used religiously to help make my outbound sales process that little bit easier. I used Sidekick, WiseStamp, Rapportive, and a couple of other plugins. I never thought of using any others until a couple of weeks ago.

Since I've recently started to conduct more outbound sales, I found that organizing emails and leads was a little bit difficult. Tracking multiple leads on multiple domain names became quite a task in itself. In my previous article about Gmail plugins, NamePros user @Jen-Sin had mentioned a plugin called Streak that looked to be the answer to my problem.

A couple of weeks ago, I started to research Streak, and now I wonder how I've managed without it! This is just a personal point of view, but I think that the Streak plugin offers some excellent tools that can be applied to outbound domain sales; best of all, the basic package that I'll cover in this article is free.

Streak is a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) plugin that can be used by an individual or a team of people to manage outbound sales of any kind, but I find that it is set up well to use with domain name sales. The plugin uses a series of labels and pipelines to allow you to easily sort your sales emails into separate lists with separate statuses.

You'll notice from the colorful screenshot above that the Streak sales panel has a number of customizable panels to monitor outbound sales leads that you've contacted. Sent and received emails can be placed into certain folders that also allow you to include notes on the leads.

I'll take you through a scenario of a recent domain sale that I conducted using Streak. I can't reveal the domain name, but it is a two-word generic .COM that I sold.

I gathered leads by looking through sources such as LinkedIn and Google to compile a list of companies and people within those companies who I needed to contact. Then, I sent each one of them a custom email from my Gmail account. Usually, I would do nothing more until a lead replied.

With Streak, I was able to create a custom "pipeline" and add each name and email to the pipeline. Along with Streak's built-in email tracker (similar to Sidekick), I was able to monitor when the emails were opened. If I received a reply (positive or negative), I was able to place these into specific categories.

I was also able to easily monitor the contacts who didn't reply, so after a week, I sent a follow-up email to each one via the pipeline I had created.

The Streak plugin turned my disorganized inbox into something I could easily track. Needless to say, I sold the domain name to one of these leads on the second email I sent to them. I truly believe that Streak helped me to achieve the sale, or at the very least, it made the sales process easier.

This is only my opinion, but Streak is a Gmail plugin that I will be using from now on. One word of advice: if you are a Sidekick user already and plan on installing Streak, I would be cautious. A combination of Sidekick and Streak left by inbox with more than a few bugs.

Just a quick question on Gmail. I have a Gmail account but it was set up more as a personal account. can you add other email addresses - I want a more business like email address - to your existing account. I've had a look round but can't seem to find anywhere where you can add email addresses.

@James Iles Great read as always, James. I have been using this software for a while now. I would be very much interested to know, Did you follow up all leads? (Regardless they opened or not) and I would be absolutely ecstatic if you could share the theme of your follow up email. I do get a lot of reads and opens but they don't convert and my follow up is often a big mess, Thanks in advance and congratulations on the sale.

Good post, another gmail/chrome plugin that I use is Sidekick by Hubspot, probably the best $10/month I've ever spent, been using it now for a year or so. It will show you when someone opens your email, clicks a link, etc.

By the way, its now called Hubspot sales, its still the best plugin every made for outbound sales (in my opinion)..and its actually free.

This plugin may be free but it is very limited if not upgraded.
The "free" version is almost useless, there is 14 days trial message when clicking the different features.
Thanks for sharing though.

I'm not using any of those plugins due to the fact none of them is actually free(very limited if not upgraded).
As for the privacy issue, if using secondary email with empty google drive & inbox it won't be a real issue.

yes but is everybody aware of it?

if nobody complains

they keep on spying your googledrive
where I really can't see why they need to

It is suspicious.
There might be a good reason for that as auto-organizing the different files.
In the worst-case scenario they are stealing data.
That's why I suggested using secondary email with empty google drive or not use the plugin/s at all.
