sales Reported Domain Sales on Twitter This Week Including Mike Mann's $35,000 Percipio.com

Spaceship Spaceship
Twitter is an excellent place to find out the latest sales figures from some of the elites in the domain industry. This week, Mike Mann and Mike Berkens' Most Wanted Domains both reported five-figure sales on Twitter.

Earlier in the week, Mike Mann reported the sale of RoboKids.com for $18,000. According to his tweet, it's a domain name that he picked up in 2012 for $200. The domain hasn't been transferred to its new owners yet, so at the moment we can only speculate on who the new owners will be.

All other major TLDs for the domain are registered, and the .BIZ extension belongs to a company called DoodleKit, which looks to be a website builder similar to Wix. Perhaps they've purchased the domain for an upcoming project.

Another possible owner could be RoboKids (currently using robokids.ca), which is a learning centre with locations across Canada, currently teaching over 1,000 kids to develop science, technology, engineering, and mathematical skills.

Mike Berkens' Most Wanted Domains posted this week on Twitter that they had sold the domain name MySuperNanny.com for $10,000. The new owner is an Australian company called My Super Nanny who use mysupernanny.com.au.

According to the new web page that is live on mysupernanny.com, the company plans on launching in the USA very soon, so owning the .COM would have been a vital part of their expansion.

What's most interesting about this domain sale is that the domain was dropped and caught by Mike in July of this year using the DropCatch.com service. If the domain didn't go to auction, then he could have acquired it for just $59. Turning that nominal fee into $10,000 in two months.

Just before writing this article, Mike Berkens also revealed that his company had turned down a $10,000 offer for a new TLD domain name you.watch.

The final sale to be reported by Mike Mann this week involves the domain name Percipio.com. It's a domain name that he purchased in October 2010 for $108 before selling it this week for $35,000. As with all of Mike's recent sales announcements, the WhoIs data hasn't updated, and the new owner could be one of a number of companies.

There's a London based design company called Percipio that is using the Percipio.me domain name. There's also a hedge fund that's called Percipio Capital Management as well as a research company called Percipio Biosciences that currently uses the domain percipiobio.com.

Congratulations to both Mike's on their sales this week.

Robokids has several suitable buyers. It is difficult to understand how Berkens gets such kind of prices for such ordinary names.

I don't know how many domainers can even dare to quote $10,000 for mysupernanny.com which they bought just few weeks back.

Congrats to both.

@nvdomains
I think a few things help when quoting asking prices for domains.
1 - having the 'guts' (for lack of a better word) to even quote a high price (you can always lower it later if needed).
2 - not needing to make a sale or needing the money right then. helps when you really don't care if you make a sale on every single inquiry that comes in.
3 - you have an idea who the potential buyer is, and what the domain could be worth to them and in their industry.

Most members would accept even $300 each for both names.Good to have the guts

Congrats to both mikes...just wondering if they reached out to these companies to make the sale or waited for enquiries.

@Ram corbin I don't think Berkens does outbound sales. I interviewed Mike Mann recently and he confirmed his company now conducts outbound sales alongside dealing with inbound enquiries.

.

that point may be crucial. It is too good if the buyer/seller share the process - "how the discussion went on".

Add CruzControl.com to that list! Mike Mann has confirmed a $16,000 sale from his $200 purchase in 2012
