auctions NNNN.com Sold for the Record Amount of $22,500!

Spaceship Spaceship
As mentioned by DomainCrunch and many of our own members, 2009.com, a domain that NamePros proudly listed as a Top Domain, got an initial offer of $20,000 on Sedo. The seller decided to push it to auction, which allowed anyone to join and buy as the reserve was met.

The first bid of $20,000 remained on the table until 2 days later when Bidder 2 placed the bid of $20,500.

This triggered a last minute sniping effort between the two bidders in the final minutes of the auction with another bid of $22,000 by Bidder 1 that extended the auction.

With the auction extended, this gave Bidder 2 enough time to place the final and winning proxy bid of $22,500 for 2009.com.

This brings in the New Year with the highest reported NNNN.com sale of 2015 to date.

Congratulations to both the buyer and seller!

2009 was a good year

the domain should NOT been seen as just a nnnn.com

It was the year when Barack Obama was inaugurated as "President of the United States of America"!

:)

imo...

That is a very nice price for a NNNN.com. But as biggie pointed out, it is not your average NNNN.. And with the market of NNNN being on the rise, I expect to see more such sales this year. Or not because they probably won't be made public..

Yes I think it's not right to throw this specific NNNN into the NNNN's pool.
Everything that has a specific meaning for a country, a group of people or the entire world make their own race. IMO

When I first seen the article, I thought of a number like 8888. More impressed with 2009.

8888 would probably go for xxx.xxx or even more to a chinese buyer..
yes that why I thought of "8's" supposedly a lucky number for the Chinese (not a expert on the Chinese culture).

they have paid up to a million bucks for a vanity license plate for their luxury cars that have 8's

Wow, I hadn't heard that before. These numeric domain sales make a lot more sense with that in mind.

Another big company spent over a million for a phone number with all 8s
