events NamePros at NamesCon - Jan. 2015

Spaceship Spaceship
As we all know, NamesCon is being held on January 11th-14th in 2015. Many will be attending and looking forward to networking with other domain investors, industry leaders, and related companies. In business, networking is a task that should be on your daily to-do list to extend brand awareness within and outside of your primary industry.

I would like to take this opportunity to extend an invitation for any NamePros members and their guests to reach out and connect one-on-one with our staff that will be attending.

NamePros staff attending NamesCon:

For those of you that missed me at T.R.A.F.F.I.C. West May/June in 2014, I am excited to hopefully meet you at NamesCon. Don't miss out on some one-on-one time with me, if you are able to spot me within the crowd using my small avatar picture. I'll be more than happy to talk to you about anything industry related or even random topics about life so that we can get to know one another better.

A sample of topics that I’ve spoken about at past events:
  • Domain Evaluations
  • NamePros Member Support
  • NamePros Related Suggestions
  • Domain Investing and Flipping
  • Selling Strategies
  • Domain Development
  • Domain Monetization
  • Networking and Cooping
  • Advertising Opportunities
  • Marketing Strategies
  • Seeking End Users
  • The Freedom of Working on Your Watch
  • Branding and Design
  • And More!
January 2015 is the time to put your 2016 New Year’s resolutions in motion and stop procrastinating. Let's dig our heels into the ground firmly, propelling ourselves forward together as a community of businesspersons and as potential cooperatives striving toward the same goals.

I wish all of you the best 2015 possible and look forward to collaborating with each and every one of you in person at NamesCon if you’re interested.

Past is past, let's move on and help the domain industry grow together. All of us win in the end.

Cheers and will not see you all in NamesCon because we are unable to attend :-$

I see a Vegas shuttle domain for auction at names con. Pity I have only started at this game I am a regular traveler to Vegas and this inspired me to buy the domain vegastransfers.com I think that auction would be the perfect one for this domain.

Good luck to any members attending I hope you get lots of comps.

I got my namescons ticket already, thanks tho. I was just procrastinating due to buying a couple really expensive domains in December, which was completely worth getting the domains and paying extra for my flight/hotel in Jan.

Looking forward to meeting everyone and buying some great domains!!

I wonder are many domainers gamblers. I found buying domains like playing progressive slots, always waiting on the big one with little or no return. I always have another go "just in case" it pays this time

Domains have been a disaster to me so far. On another note I found the walking dead machines not so bad in the Bellagio there is a bank of four of them, they took me out of a few difficult situations.

Hope you all win .

Any person who has ever started any type of business is a gambler. It's about gambling when the odds are in your favor and pulling back when they are not. Business is nothing more than a game.

If you're not earning a profit, then you should stop buying and read some more.

This is the wrong strategy for every type of business, including the domain business.

I am only at it about 3 weeks so not to far into it yet. Have some listed on flippa but not sure if it is the 60 day thing from hand reg or the quality of the names listed. Some have a few watchers but no bidders.

3 weeks? A lot of people here have doing this for years and still not solved the equation, the difference is they go back and analyze what went wrong. You need to do the same thing.

@onebrand.co, today was the first day and it was amazing. Very busy since registration. Richard, Jothan, and Jodi have done an amazing job.

I started the day with @Adam Dicker ' s DN College Identifying and Appraising Domains. Adam spoke to us about what to look for when we're buying domains, he showed us a tool called Zip Zang that he uses to filter his expired domain lists, offered all attendees a free one page site- lead gen or informational, then he took questions from the audience. Great class, very informative and very popular. There were people standing even.

I then skipped over to see Jothan Frakes to learn how to get the maximum benefits out of the conference.

Took a small walk over to listen to Karen Bernstein and Paul Keeting on "Minding our business." Basically a crash course about the murky waters of domains colliding with trademarks. Legal protection for domain. It was very informative.

Then I skipped over to learn about about Fundamental Domain Name Concepts for brand managers. Just curious. It was nice to put a face behind some of the names.

I ended the evening about 30 mins ago after attending the DomainFest@NamesCon networking party. Which was nice. Live jazz band, bar, and great people. It was hosted by Donuts.

Now I'm going to rest up and get ready for day two. It was great!
