sales Mike Mann Starts the Week With a $43,000 .CO Sale

NameSilo
Mike Mann - owner of DomainMarket.com - has just announced the $43,000 sale of a .CO domain name that he's owned since 2010. It's a sale that would put it at joint 18th on the highest ever publicly recorded .CO domain sales (according to NameBio).

News of the domain sale was published on Mike's Twitter account today, informing his followers of the sale of Watches.co.
Watch the magic, sold http://watches.co $43,000. Purchased 7/19/10 cheap.

The WHOIS hasn't changed to its new registrant yet, but it's highly likely that the new owner is either a watch shop or a watch manufacturer. Brands such as MVMT - who were one of the first companies to advertise on Instagram - may have acquired the name as an upgrade.

The sale of Watches.co beats some recent premium .com sales in the Watch industry such as SmartWatches.com that sold earlier in the year for $35,000. Watches.com resolves to a parked page, and it is registered under privacy.

Although Mike didn't reveal the price he paid for Watches.co, he did reveal that he purchased it on 19th July 2010 - the day before .CO was available to the general public. If he did acquire it during the .CO landrush, he probably paid between $200-$300 for it.

Congratulations to Mike on another great sale!

James it would be very interesting to know if Mr Mann bought any of the .xyz "one word generics" whereas he's obviously willing to take a shot and he's also a long term investor.

Mike announces the sales as soon as they close, and it seems to take a couple of weeks to finalise & transfer over.
