advice How To Find Company Email Addresses In Minutes

Spaceship Spaceship
You're trying to find end users to contact in order to sell a domain. You've found their company website and have identified the person you need to email, but you don't know their email address. Not to worry, there are a few very simple ways to find any company email address within a matter of minutes.

Finding a specific person's company email address is usually fairly simple; most companies follow strict email username formats. The most common formats are:

1. [email protected] (e.g [email protected])
2. [email protected] (e.g [email protected])
3. [email protected] (e.g [email protected])
4. [email protected] (e.g [email protected])

In most cases, the company you're contacting will use one of these formats. Larger companies tend to use the first three, but smaller companies may opt for option 4.

To identify which email format a company is using, you could check their domain name's WhoIs details. More often than not, the WhoIs registrant will be a staff member - usually using their company email address.

If WhoIs doesn't produce any results, then try this little Google trick. Search for the following: email "@Domain.com" (including the quotations, but obviously swapping domain.com for the company domain). This will give you many listings of instances when a company email address has been indexed by Google. I do this quite often, and 9 times out of 10, I'll find a company email address, which will show me the format that they use.

Another way to find an email format is to look at press releases from the company. Sometimes, the press release will include a company contact - complete with email address.

Once you know the name of the person you want to contact, along with the email address format, it will be worth verifying the email address, just to make sure the address is still active. I use MailTester.com - a free service that lets you verify most email addresses.

That's just a quick tip which may help you. If you have any questions about finding email addresses, or you have your own methods you'd like to share, please comment below.

If you have any other domain sales or domain acquisition tips you'd like to see on NamePros.com's blog, please PM me.

mailtester.com
verify-mail.org

test all above mentioned (and further such as lastname / initials-lastname etc..) name combinations and see what's the result.. then you know which one works
if their servers are configured not to send a response back, u will still have to guess though and use all possible combinations and see what ur email client gets back..

James,
I am here again.
Having appreciated your tips I am telling my story on one of my domain names that I registered with a view to sell the same to one of the e-Commerce behemoths.Name of that domain name is amazdrone. com.I coined it combining two words AMAZON and DRONE keeping in view the DRONE delivery service of Amazon.Presently they are using amazonprime. com to publicize their drone shipping service. I think amazdrone. com will not be worse than amazonprime. com . I am thinking of contacting someone from amazon.com let them know about my intention to sell my domain. What is take on it James. But other than jeff [at] amazon.com I don't know any body else's email address. And Jeff is very unlikely to open a mail from a stranger.

However, I had another idea in mind while registering the domain.AMAZDRONE. COM can be broken into two different components-AMAZING + DRONE which may serve the purpose of others whose business is making of drone rather that using drone as a tool.

Thanks and regards

Hi Kumar,

Before trying to offer Amazondrone do not forget that word Amazon is strong trademark. That means they may take you to court for registering domain in bad faith. I would stay away of such domain.

Thanks James, there are also tools like AeroLeads.com who do this with email verification and scoring.

Here's another service to add to your arsenals:

SCRUBMATIC.com - up to 100 validations per day, free. Does scoring, can upload CSV files complete with other data (like address/phone/etc) and download it back without losing the format. Cheap to buy additional credits, too.

Full Disclosure: I founded the company last year, but it's since been acquired and is under completely new management. I no longer have any financial ties to it, though. I do, however, still use it daily and keep in contact with the new owner. C-level execs don't even know how to act when an email arrives from me to their non-published addresses. B-)

Thks James for the great tips. But how do we identify who is the person in charge to begin with. Any guide on that? Still learning the ropes...
