We start the week with the news from Bhanu Prasad, the domain investor who sold 4G.com for a high six figure fee earlier this year. He's recorded another high value domain sale today, and that is the sale of FoodMall.com for $50,000.
The buyers are (according to WhoIs) Fujian Intercontinental Agricultural Goods E-commerce LTD of China; a company that was established this year with around $80 million in funding, according to their website.
I have some details of the sale of FoodMall.com that Bhanu was kind enough to share with me. The buyer approached him offering $15,000 to buy the domain name. After some negotiations, the final price of $50,000 was agreed upon. The sale took around 2 weeks to close.
The domain name was bought by Bhanu for registration fee "long long back," according to his email to me earlier today. Currently the .net, .org, .info, and .biz extensions are all registered, but not by the new owners of FoodMall.com. The domain FoodMall.cn is also registered, but doesn't resolve to a website.
