The top sale is the actual keyword itself. Shop.com sold for $3.5 million in November of 2003. Complex.com wrote: Looking to create an online destination where people could easily browse through a number of catalogs, Lee Lorenzen founded a site called Catalog City. From there the vision grew to include products from web-only shops, popular department stores, and speciality stores. Backed by a great purchasing technology called OneCart, all CatalogCity was missing was a new name: It came in the form of Shop.com which was picked up for a little over $3 million.
The number two sale is Shop.cn, the domain sold for $160,320 in February of 2014. The sale was part of the eName/.CN Registry Auction. Currently the site has a 501 not implemented message showing.
ProShop.com was the number three sale at an even $100,000. The domain sold back in 2005 and was a private sale. The domain registered in 1999 is owned by industry powerhouse Anything.com. The domain is currently parked.

New gTLD
The .shop extension is launching in September, On 28 January 2016, GMO Registry won rights to own the .shop gTLD for $41.5 million in an ICANN auction, outbidding all other applicants. At the time of the auction, this was the most expensive reported auction in the history of the New gTLD Program.[1]
