domains 7 Great Domain Names Owned by Michael Cyger

NameSilo
Investor and entrepreneur @Michael Cyger became a well-known figure in the domain name industry thanks to his @DomainSherpa brand, which he created in 2012. Through DomainSherpa, Michael won several industry awards including Blogger of the Year, Developer of the Year and Goodwill Ambassador of the Year. Whilst Michael no longer runs DomainSherpa, his company Web X.0 Media LLC does possess a solid portfolio of valuable domain names.

Michael sold one of his best domains, Tulip.com, last year but thanks to DomainIQ's toolbox, we were able to take a look at the rest of Michael's portfolio. Below, we have chosen seven of our favourite names on the list.

Brew.com

We start our list with this valuable four-letter word. According to NameBio, there have been several five and six-figure sales of four-letter word .COM's this year including Edit.com for $140,000.

Based on DomainIQ's WHOIS history, tool, Michael purchased Brew.com around the start of 2015. With the global beer business being populated with innovative new products from craft breweries and smaller startups, Brew.com would be a great destination for a brand within that industry.

Diagnose.com

The keyword "diagnose" is a quality term within the medical industry and should command a high sales price when Michael eventually decides to sell.

Startups such as Babylon Health have raised $85 million to allow online access to doctors within minutes. Owning Diagnose.com, a company could immediately become a major player in the industry.

Dragonfly.com

Animal domain names have become highly desirable among domain investors thanks to their versatility. According to a recent DomainSherpa review, the domain Walrus.com was acquired by Internet Real Estate Ltd for $55,000.

Dragonfly.com is an excellent example of an insect domain that can be turned into a powerful brand name.

Instruct.com

Michael's portfolio seems to include domain names from growing online industries. Brew.com and Diagnose.com represent premium destinations for the beer and medical industries respectively. Another rapidly expanding online industry is education.

Companies such as Udemy, Udacity and Coursera are popular sites with millions of users. The domain Instruct.com would be a good asset for any company attempting to compete against those three behemoths of the online education community.

Impressive.com

What's an impressive portfolio without an impressive .COM domain? Impressive.com is a positive brand name and according to LinkedIn, there are already plenty of companies using the "Impressive" name.

Since 2016, Mike has owned this impressive name after the name was used for several years by an Arizona company called Impressive Labels.

Matinee.com

Matinee is originally a French word, meaning "morning". However, it has long been adopted by theatre companies to describe an early showing of a movie or theatrical production. Michael has owned the Matinee.com domain since 2015.

With an Estibot valuation of $18,000, it may not have the attraction of Brew.com or Dragonfly.com, but for the theatrical industry, it could be an excellent brand name.

Important.com

In a similar vein to Impressive.com is our final domain on the list, Important.com. Another positive brand name that could be used in many different industries. According to DomainIQ, Michael's company has owned this name since mid 2015.

Even more impressive than @Michael Cyger's portfolio .. is his character!

Not only did he produce one of the most helpful resources for domainers in Domain Sherpa .. but he also still owns and runs DNAcademy where he is consistently extremely helpful to new domainers!

But beyond that .. based on several email exchanges I had with him over my first year of domaining, I can say with confidence that Micheal truly is a nice guy who really cares about helping people!

So here's a toast to the owner of Brew.com! :)

Truly awesome.
He should be a regular on Sherpa. I know it was his show and he sold it to Drew/Media Options so Drew and host Tess are mandatory for the show but seriously Cyger should always be there in that 3rd chair. I dont think anyone can disagree when looking at this truly Bad A$$ empire of 7 incredible domains he has accumulated. These are just the 7 we are allowed to see right now. I would put money on it, that he is packing another hundred or so thay blow away many of us domainers Top 10.

Cant pick a favorite. All so diverse and top notch in their respective niches.

Incredible domain names.

He is not just a domainer anymore, he is friggen domain rockstar.

Thanks for sharing.

Do you know how much he paid for any?

Matinee.com
...
Michael has owned the Matinee.com domain since 2015.

Namebio.com has two recorded sales entries for Matinee.com in 2015 -- one with NameJet, and the other with Flippa. This alone does not mean guarantee that he bought the domain at the below prices.

Aaron from DSAD.com wrote about the $7,750 Flippa sale in February of 2015

Brew.com is my favorite as it would be a great domain for beer, coffee or tea companies!
But I think Diagnose.com is the most valuable and will sell for the highest amount of money!
Great list James! Thanks!!

Dare to be different

I pick diagnose.com as having the greatest potential. As cell phones become diagnostic tools a website that puts it all together will be worth a mint.

when end users will come to buy this. buying a domain is good, but selling and wating for end user, is a diffciult part. as this takes too much time sometime.

Agree with @Ategy.com

I've never even thought about the domains he owns because the guy is just one of the nicest guys. He really is.

But I do like Brew.com.

Michael isn't really the type of guy to blow his own horn but this post does show he does walk the talk.

Dragonfly.com is a technology company that builds and hosts software for leading organisations. This is my favorite.
Yes, it looks like he sold the domain, unless he owns or is a partner in the company. Meanwhile:

"GOOGLE IS PLANNING to launch a censored version of its search engine in China that will blacklist websites and search terms about human rights, democracy, religion, and peaceful protest, The Intercept can reveal. The project - code-named Dragonfly..."
