information 5 Celebrities Who Haven't Acquired Their Own .COM

NameSilo
Today, I'll be delving into the world of celebrities to discover the famous people who don't own their proper name as .COM domain names. If you've achieved a certain level of fame, I believe that acquiring your .COM name should be fairly important. Even if there's no intention in using the name, it should at least be in your possession.

Here are five very famous faces who don't own their own names in the .COM extension.

Johnny Depp - JohnnyDepp.com

Arguably the most famous actor in the world who has starred in movies such as Edward Scissorhands, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Sweeny Todd. At the height of his fame in the 90s, Depp received over 10,000 fan mail letters per week and his name is searched almost 3 million times per month on Google.

He doesn't own JohnnyDepp.com, however. Navigating to the page will take you to a fan site, which is run by Celebrity-Websites.com who run similar sites on domain names such as Keith-Richards.com.

The site contains a large amount of content relating to Depp and his movies. If a UDRP was filed by Depp's management company, he'd surely be able to claim his .COM domain name.

Daniel Radcliffe - DanielRadcliffe.com

The star of Harry Potter doesn't own his own domain name, and he also doesn't have any official pages on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. It's interesting to note that DanielRadcliffe.com is currently in redemption period after forwarding to a website called Fan-Girl.org.

Daniel's management company - ARG - may be interested in trying to acquire the domain now before anyone else grabs the name, resulting in a potentially problematic acquisition further down the line.

George Clooney - GeorgeClooney.com

The double Oscar winner who's known for his roles in Gravity, the Ocean's trilogy, and The Perfect Storm, doesn't own GeorgeClooney.com. The domain is owned by Jeff Burgar - an illusive domain investor who has also owned domain names such as CharlieSheen.com. He's also been involved in numerous UDRPs on domains such as CameronDiaz.com, TomCruise.com and LarryKing.com.

You may be interested in taking a look at a rare interview he recorded with DomainSherpa in 2011.

One Direction - OneDirection.com

One Direction are currently considered the biggest boy band on the planet with over 50 million record sales and a reported net worth of $130 million. Their Twitter username is @OneDirection, they own facebook.com/onedirection and they operate an Instagram account with the username @OneDirection, but they don't own OneDirection.com.

Instead, the band's management have opted to use OneDirectionMusic.com rather than attempting to acquire the exact-match domain. OneDirection.com is currently forwarding to a fan site for the band, and it is owned by a British individual.

Warren Buffett - WarrenBuffett.com

Warren Buffett's Wikipedia page describes him as the most successful investor of the 20th Century, and he's currently ranked as the 3rd richest person in the world with an estimated worth of $67 billion.

Although Mr Buffett's company purchased over 3.6 million shares of Verisign in 2013, Warren and his team have never acquired WarrenBuffett.com. The domain - which has a global Alexa ranking of just over 600,000 - currently resolves to a website containing information about Warren Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway.

Five more celebrity domain names will be published at some point next week, as I find it interesting to see how and why some of the wealthiest and most famous people in the world can ignore the fact that their own names in the .COM extension are owned and operated by others.

Even the famous Justin Bieber doesn't own his name domain. Seems like many famous music artists are using the word - music, at the end

But JustinBieber.com is a young kid's website, that was attacked in email, probably by fans of the more famous Justin. The family removed the kid's pics.

They also disallowed bots from searching the archive

Good write-up. Not everyone cares about the internet, websites and domain names.

They live a life that is entirely different then your average harry and tom, I don't even think they even have the time to register a .com.
