so the previous owner forgot to renew that's not gd problem or new owner problem. this sucks

GoDaddy sold a domain, contacted the buyer to purchase it back, and when negotiations failed, they took it back citing an 'error' and offered $350 store credit. 🤔

Yeah that's the part I saw that looked shady. Errors happen, so you say there was an error and show the error etc... But it looks like there was a brokerage type email sent and then no go there and then there was an error.

At the end of August Godaddy clawed back a domain I bought from closeouts. It was bought in July. A month and a half later GD removed it from my account and sent an email stating:

"Unfortunately, due to an unexpected issue this domain was recently made available for purchase in error. This domain should not have been available for registration, auction, or capture via backorder."

They're lucky only a handful of people sue them for this kind of nonsense.

Read first, before replying with absolute nonsense. So quick to judge no wonder your post count is on steroids.

There is little chance a reputed lawyer would take this on if it was as simple as you mentioned.
