Ok folks …. yes i did reg a .technology domain name and i don't mind dipping my toes into the new gtld pond. I have seen a few names i had my eyes on go and a few that are 'Premium Prices" …. oh no it's .tv all over again.
~
I have read some comments about the length of this extension and i do agree it's not for everybody but it is a bit more reasonably priced so it does allow for a 'one off'
~
I dont really wish to argue about the rights and wrongs of this gtld extension as there is plenty of that in the other threads and we will all just repeat ourselves. (perhaps a thousand times) over the upcoming year
~
So if you feel like sharing a .technology reg …… please do

:'(

Open.technology (snagged as a pre-reg -- I made the wise decision NOT to buy into the early reg program).

I am in private auction for two others...

When I selected my keywords, they had to make sense as an entire term (that is, including the gTLD), and I think "open technology" is a good, generic term.

IF these take off, users will see the entire term.

It's a good catch for registration cost.

I have registered a couple.

Fitness.technology
Holo.technology

Would love any opinions people may have.

I had holo.technology on my watch list, but didn't pre-reg it.

Nice catches.

some of the names were premium priced so it will be interesting, most seem to have been grabbed by companies (the premiums)

Okay. I joined.
I've got to show off my O.Technology :)

A single letter .Technology is very limited, six to be exact.

I tried to get two of them, but it's a matter of few minutes the other single character was gone.

I did consider these but the renewals were a bit much, many of the ones i liked such as data, media, search were high renewals as well so i decided against it, yours is a good one, good luck

spotted nano.technology on dnjournal $1425 , it would have been purchased for a low premium i think , perhaps $250-$500 mark

It's kind of cool..... but in reality, who would actually use a single letter domain name? I make websites for a living (real ones) and I wouldn't use a single letter name simply because it doesn't say anything. It's boring. .. just saying.. :guilty:

i think the letter O at least represents 'online' it is one of the more desirable single letters, would be at a premium though

Is it just me, or are most of .technology domain names skewed towards the right of the dot?

Looks so unnatural. What do you think?

I have apps.photography and have gotten used to the look of it, i think the two word phrase hacks look weirder

What looks weird are words in the wrong order. I don't know anybody that photographs apps.

Will be interesting how .tech does. Think it's going to hurt .technology value, whatever that might be, since it's shorter and easier?

I can tell you that a 'premium name' is half the price of godaddy if you use dynadot or enom

In reality, no one own a single character domain name till now I got one. It will be a fortune down the road. The renewal will not break my piggy bank, but the marketing value is excellent.

On a separate discussion, I have onlinebuzz.com and buzz extension will come out soon. Free buzz for me ...:kickass:

why would it be worth a fortune when there are lots of other people who own single letter domains in the new gtlds as well?

as for online.buzz...unless you have a trademark you won't get this domain. it will be reserved.
