Hello, I think it would be pretty useful to keep track of all LLLL.com sales , even the little ones under $100 so that , pretty soon , when the available LLLL.com will be finished , we`ll have a better idea on market prices.

It is important that these sales are confirmed. So before to post, make sure payment went OK.

I will start with todays` Sedo confirmed sales:

FISE.com 2,700 Euros
TSRT.com US $760
VEUP.com US $1,700

Also, I found interesting to see this average LLLL, getting bids up to $51 and reserve not me. It says it all.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
As A. Dicker said : all LLLLs are worthy keeping...
Seriously ? It's no wonder domainers are getting burned again and again.

Years ago, he also bought 5000 LLL.ca (the leftovers) then dropped them a few years later. I doubt the strategy paid off.

I completely agree.

The self-proclaimed gurus here at NP in the "4L space" are suffering. Watch them pump their mediocre domains in this thread. But ask them about their 4L sales... they may have none whatsoever, despite claiming to have been playing this game, and "investing" in 4L domains for several years and years. lol

My 4l.com collection is but a tiny portion of my whole portfolio, I only buy when I feel that certain criteria, that I have set out, have been met.

When people use their blogs to say all 4L have value, it's because they own poor quality names, and just want newbies to buy their stuff. You see them pump their names here. Having a large portfolio whose overall quality is mediocre just means huge renewal fees, and suffering losses year after year.

I think A.Dicker and his work/opinion ( as he is one of the 20 most influential people of the Internet - as DNS states - ) can only be criticized or confronted by those who have achieved the same results; including selling a domain for more than 1 million. As I am not one of them I am not going to be so arrogant to say he is wrong.

Just acquired XOMG .com here on the forum.

No, it's not a question of arrogance here. My point is that people should not blindly follow (or mimic) the top domainers, without fully understanding what they are doing.
I also happen to agree with most of the stuff that Rick is saying, but his personal circumstances are completely different than mine or yours. The strategies that work for him may not be valid for anyone else.
Rick paid 200K flowers.mobi. Should everybody else have done the same ? Nope.
The difference is that HE can afford to take that kind of risk and lose 200K (and write it off as a loss for tax purposes).

Fact: Adam dropped thousands of 4L.com and 3L.ca. So in the end were they all worth keeping ? It's either yes or no. Hint: his wallet appears to be leaning toward a big no.
PS: can you please post a link where Adam said "all LLLLs are worthy keeping". This is the right thread to discuss 4L.com.

Just to be clear, I'm not dissing Adam or Rick. Their achievements are well-known, and their sales more than offset their bad bets so it's ok.
But you can't take inspiration from their success with blinders on.

pardon me...who are you to tell me I am " taking inspiration from their success with blinders on " ?
You are right; this is the thread about LLLLs, not about why, who, how and where I take my inspirations from.
I also think you are not in the position of telling me what I can or can't afford...

Once again:
You quoted: "all LLLLs are worthy keeping" (Adam allegedly said).
Yet he didn't follow his own advice, or most likely, that didn't work out - so he adjusted accordingly.
He changed his mind. Yes, it's okay. I made mistakes, I changed my mind too. It's normal.
I'm just pointing out to the fact that his statement is obviously outdated, and should no longer be used to reinforce the belief that "all LLLLs are worthy keeping".
That's all.

ICUP definitely for that price for a reseller and much more for an end user. Infinite potential in that domain : food & drink, disposable cups...

Has the LLLL.com buyout held?

Not really important so far

Has the LLLL.com buyout held?

I wonder that after seeing hundreds of offers in Godaddy auctions for llll we may think twice if sitting on a big portfolio is a good idea.

In my case I registered few ones with "sense", like Spanish three letters plus an "x" at the end or beginning... but most of the names do not make any sense and thus people are just getting rid of them, specially if they contain Q or Z

With the new gTLDs being released I guess some are just giving up... at the time I don't know what is the right approach since form start I never thought the whole lll are worth it... only some of them and only if they can fit some project, idea, are pronounceable or so...

I am always waiting for a good analysis on this matter llll vs new gTLDs... is there someone willing to share?

My experience is that I have seen the value of LLLLs steadily increasing in the last 10-12 months. I strongly believe that owning LLLLs is like having cash in your hands and I keep investing in them, infact I just acquired 3 more.
