Here's my question..what is the value of domain hack? I've seen some good domain hack and i was wondering about the value of it. I myself own one and i'm not sure whether or not i should get more. I haven't seen any sale of domain hack. Why do we register domain hack? Is it because the domain looks cool or because there's a potential end user who's willing to buy such domain?

Well, technically "talc" is a word - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talc - but I know what you're saying. I'd say ll.lc is probably more of a typo domain hack, since the .lc nic is selling *.l.lc subdomains as there own form of domain hack.

I don't think you can call those domain hacks as they are not actual words

Damn, here I am learning more about hacks. As if I didn't have enough domains and projects.

I kept getting error messages with the .ma registrar. Who did you use?

Actually FO.AM and RO.AM aren't mine I was just showing the developed sites of the hacks.

The niche market for this kind of domains aren't there yet but eventually will be recognized as more hack becomes developed.

I think domain hacks are now getting some recognition. Here's another sale of domain hack wi.fi for $37,500.

Foru.ms is Selling for $7,000 in afternic and it has 4 days to go.

This is good news for domain hack fan.

Len when I first look at your hack I was trying to figure out what Adelaide mean and after doing some research I found that it is the fifth largest city in Australia. Your domain isn't so bad since it is six letter domain and IMO short domain hack is always better. Adelai.de could be a good site about the city of Adelaide. Ro.ma for instance is a site about the city of Rome.

DomainMayhem.com infor.ms and seru.ms are good picks considering most short domain hacks have been registered.

Xman thanks for the feedback. Yes you are right it is meant to represent the city of Adelaide, the Capital of South Australia. There is actually a large population of German decent in that area and I think this particular hack may cause some interest.

Coming from you (your hack portfolio is incredible) that is a real compliment, thank you. The hausfra.us (German for housewife) is a term that is being used in some gossip forums, so I threw it on the order for godaddy (25% off an order of $75 or more)-so essentially I got it for free.

I also wanted to ask xman how you managed to get those two character hacks? Two characters are no longer available to register for any ext. are they?

The answer is NO.

Some ccTLD allows you to reg. 2 char. and also depends on which registrar.

Just added another hack in my collection

Bru.sh

I still have a few I haven't registered and I'm debating whether or not to give it away so stay tune in this channel.

That's good news!

I strongly believe short domains will be in relative high demand coming years, for example as people check internet more and more on mobile phones or small laptops. Domain hacks can fit this demand perfectly, short and also catchy names like this one, nice sale :sold:

That's exactly what I was thinking earlier this year and there are lots of negative comments about domain hack back then. As usual I always follow my gut feeling and started hunting good and short domain hacks. I end up getting a lot of good ones and I guess I didn't have much competetion hunting back then and I use that in my advantage. Believe it or not what you see in my signature are all hand reg. and those are just a few. I collected tons of them.

Other thoughts

I use urbanexod.us because the .com was already a traffic redirector and I hoped that urbanexod.us would be distinct enough not to get lost on the .com... also because it is short, descriptive, and I hope memorable.

I also bought the domain name:

dadd.io

I would like to develop it, but depending on what I can get for it, I might be better off selling it... according to this thread, maybe I should go ahead with it.

Any opinions about the value of these two hacks... or how I should present them when developing the sites would be of interest to me.

Welcome to NamePros

urbanexodus.com with 2147483647 Alexa rank

At this point it's hard to appraise domain hack but with develop site and good alexa rank would make a difference. You may also wanna try the appraisal section and see what others thinks about the value.

I've got these two:

ambu.sh
bull.sh

I want to develop bull.sh as:
http://bull.sh/t

I've also got paythru.us, which aspires to someday become a paypal-type site.

No offense but domain hacks aren't really all that popular at this point time, something like bull.sh/t wouldn't go too well. :(
