Reviews and information for NamesBeyond

They are a bad company when I used them. Bad support. Slow customer service. Price is par to eNom resellers and godaddy. I will not really recommend them. My website, AsianKid.org has been down many times with this registrar reporting that my domain is In-active in which I have emailed them and entered my nameservers.

See Good Luck Domain... and Good LUCK, you'll need it.

Namesbeyond is owned by Uma Murali who owns GoodLuckDomains.in. Same Company. Please see the review on GoodLuckDomain.com. I'd like to add that this registrar is not located in India but Pennsylvania and Canada but it Indian owned.

I have 2 domains registered with NamesBeyond.com and my websites are still not up. This company has the worst customer service I have ever experienced--and I always give a company many chances.

When you call their 1-877 number, an answering machine picks up immediately and says to leave a message with your name and number and they will get back to you. They NEVER returned my calls during a span of more than 5 days (business days, no holidays) and it makes me wonder why they have a toll-free number in the first place.

When I log in to their website to manage my domains, sometimes the domains are not present (my account shows that I own 0 domains!). At almost $400, this is NOT what I expect.

When it came to changing nameservers, they have a form where you can fill in the nameservers yourself, but this does not work. When you click submit, the form says it has been accepted, but then it doesn't actually update the nameservers, and you end up in a vicious cycle and get nowhere.

They have an online chat support, which is offline most of the time. When it IS online, it is very slow and there is a language barrier as the support chatter on the other end struggles with the English language.

Their entire operation seems like a fly-by-night, "let's-get-rich-quick, make-the-sale-and-then-we-don't-care-what-happens-to-the-customer" business... It is VERY frustrating dealing with them, and I DO NO RECOMMEND NAMESBEYOND.COM.

I am trying to transfer a name out of NamesBeyond, and after 3 days have still been unable to get an authorization code. They answered the phone once, to tell me I needed to send an email for the authorization. Since then it's been an answering machine that sounds like someone's personal answering machine.
Be extra wary when buying any domain at NamesBeyond.

These guys are legit, I have done business with them before. They even answer phone calls.

Their CEO is world class and responsive - I have spoken with her.

They were one of the first registrars to support DNSSEC for secure registrations on the DNS.

They totally give you great service.

This subject must be very dear to you to inspire your first post in 5 years at Namepros.

I did finally get an authorization code, but it was the most difficult transfer I've experienced in 3 years of domaining. My experience was the polar opposite of what you describe.

Worst registrar ever!!!!

Namesbeyond is the worst single registrar ever. They don't answer or return my phone calls...... My domains are so often down and they don't care.. Whoever said the CEO is world class is an idiot and possibly an employee.... I took my business to godaddy and they are SO MUCH BETTER!

Your post is nonsense. I've been in DNF for a long time. Just because my experience is better than yours, don't trash my reputation. I don't work for them, and am not linked to them.

But I have truly had a good experience with them, for years now.

Your suspicions are wrong. I am a domainer, and have been one for years now.

No they have a very good support team who really care about the customers domains. They call the respective customers of the domains which nearing the expiry date and informs them of the renewal to be made this is something far more superior than any registrar who just gives only automatic email reminders and not call in person. Their cost is reasonable and fair and not much expensive

Influx of first time posters in this thread lol

Yeah it is a too bad this company cannot rely on positive reviews from real customers. Something has to be fishy when several new accounts are created just to post a message in this thread. You don't see these people posting anywhere else in the forum do you? For one of the posters to be a domainer and a member of DNF, you would think they might be interested in posting in this domaining forum more often than just once or twice.

namesbeyond give full support to their clients. Once domain registered and hosting fixed means the site will be live. Their support are working all through business days in order to support their clients. If the site is active then your acount will show the registered domain in your name. nameservers can be changed easily, they don't have any language problem, they give proper reply to their clients, when they come to online chats. They have a very good caring state even after the domain is registered.

I bet the new posters are all the same person, it's the same kind of English. Could have been written by a bot.

Sorry for pulling up this old thread, but how the h*ll do I initiate a transfer out of this terrible registrar?

A name I bought on Namejet was unfortunately registered here and I need to get it out ASAP as it expires soon and I don't want to renew it with Namesbeyond.

Thanks!

I can confirm that "namesbeyond" are terrible. My domain was transferred there when the former registrar closed. I have been trying to get my domain unlocked so i can move it for days now. They ignore messages, live chat when on tells you email them. You email them and nothing !

I have made a complaint to ICAAN about them as my domain is down and I cannot get it out. I do not want to work with them.

Avoid them like the plague.

Latebloomer - any tips on getting the domain unlocked - i am tearing my hair out !??

I was worried the same thing would happen.
However, Mara Kessler was very helpful. I emailed Mara this morning and the same day the name was unlocked and auth code sent. Domain name now pending transfer.
Email addresses I found and used were...

[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]

Hope this helps.
