Will YPN ever come out of beta???

Will it? I've applied to the beta about 5 times and never heard anything.

I hope so, because I always seem to get rejected by them. I have a feeling though that once they are out of beta, their CPC rates will start going down.

Yahoo is still strong but they took a beating from what I recall lately when they changed their game plan around. One of my associates use to spend around 30k a month with them but now they are spending half getting more hits.. so yes the CPC will go down as it has been

well, I applied and within, oh a week I got this response. They don't actually say "REJECTED" in bold red letters but I got the hint

Is this the same response that others got when rejected?

I got the same response as above. Not sure what Yahoo is looking for in order to be accepted. Probably only taking sites with 1 million + pageviews a month.

You have to make your site look bigger than it really is... if that makes sense. Also what site did you submit? I would re-submit again and again. If you are from the US you should be able to get accepted.

I don't know what you mean. Can you clarify?

I have been trying to get accepted by YPN for over 2 years now and they never accept me. I have applied about 4 times now using the same site except one time.

Someone told me once that you have to use an email address that utilizes the domain of the site you are submitting for approval. So in other words, if your site is DDDDDDDDDD.com then your email address on your application better be whatever@DDDDDDDDDD.com otherwise they will never accept you even if you meet all the criteria. This makes sense otherwise you could submit any old site to them. How would htey know you actually own it?

So anyway I tried using an email address from my domain the last time I applied and I STILL never got accepted. I only ever got the rejection letter once. I really, really wish they would accept me. Perhaps it has to do with the subject matter. My site is about internet marketing. It's a free informational site. Maybe they are not accepting sites in that category. I guess I better subit other sites as well. I will try again.

As for when they will come out of beta stage? Well, they have been in beta for over 3 or 4 years now so my guess is that they will never get our of the beta stage. IMO, what they are doing is pretending to be in beta but in actuality they are just running a closed, selective operation. No way a program could be in beta for 3 or 4 years seriously. It's actually ridiculous when you think about it. Beta, to them, is just another word for "strictly controlled sign-ups", I think.

.................................................. .....

I just decided to apply again but with a cookie-cutter website I have just to see what happens. Immediately I got this email...

Thank you for your interest in the Yahoo! Publisher Network beta program. This is to confirm that your information will be stored in our database and be considered for the beta program.

Sincerely,
Yahoo! Publisher Network

LOL. Yyyyyyeah, whatever.

Tricks to YPN

I’m new to this forum but would like to offer my insight. YPN is difficult to get into unless you know what they are looking for in order to get approved. Here are some basics:
-Contact link, about us link, terms of use link, privacy policy link, etc
-They don’t approve spam sites like celebrity sites, they want sites with rich content (news sites do really well)
-They want to see over a 3% ctr on the ads
-The list goes on and on. One of their requirements is, “A site that is general well done and good for our network” or something vague like that I can’t remember the exact wording.

Besides, there are better programs available that are powered by Yahoo and are easier to get approved with. YPN uses Yahoo’s content match feed which is absolute crap, I think Miva pays better. If you want some suggestions on who I’d recommend send me a PM and I’ll chat with you about the best possible fit for your sites. I know Yahoo allows

Thanks
Zach

Yeah I got accepted for Yahoo Publisher. I created my account and stuff but I never use it. As far as you selling your invite for $5, that was kind of foolish if you ask me. Especially since I found out after activating my account that invites were selling on forums for $350 to $500 a pop. I couldn't believe it.

Believe me, I have been with YPN for about 2 years now and You're Not Missing Much!

It's completely hit and miss with them, some niches do well for short periods of time but over the long haul their targeting is just to unreliable to place any confidence in.

You're better off sticking with Adsense no matter what some might tell you.

Best wishes,
Kimmy

Please remember that some people had their adsense accounts terminated back when Google lost the PPC class action lawsuit against them. They went apesh|t and terminated a whole bunch of innocent adsense users who cannot get their accounts back even after 3 or more appeals. These people will take anything, even YPN, so long as they can make money. The only way to safely and sensibly get a new adsense account for these people is to form an LLC or incorporate so that they do not have to use their own name and address and other info. Going through a family member or friend is very non-sensible and stupid when you think about all the tax implications.

MIVA is very unreliable and pays VERY VERY little and the same goes with just about every other adsense-like program out there. I've tried MIVA about a year or so ago and got really sick of getting paid a penny per click for even the high paying keywords. When you are getting paid a penny per click, you have to realize that you are just giving your traffic away for nothing and that's not good.

Then all the other companies require you to submit all the sites you own and want to display ads on for approval first. A real pain in the neck.

From what I hear, YPN is the best alternative to Adsense, even if they aren't that great and that's why I and many others want to get a YPN account. They may not be even half as good as google but they are most likely strides a head of the rest.

Ebooklover:

I agree with your post 100% I have been paid up to around 6-9 dollars a click with YPN. Some of my high paying keyword sites are still pretty slim. I think YPN is great in my opinion because they are not banning accounts left and right. All I get asked is to take a short 6 sec survey (do you like this design) etc.. what type of traffic are you receiving etc.. so there is my spin
