Core.XXXX

I am not sure if this is the correct forum to post this in, however, it was the msot suitable I could find.

I currently own a proxy and I received an email saying that I am using 100% of my server's storage space. I looked at my proxy's folder on my server and found hundreds of files called things such as:

core.8024
core.8199
core.9257

I have deleted them all about 2 weeks agi, however, I just received the same 100% email and found that all these core.xxxx files had returned!

Does anyone know what these actually are and how one can get rid of them forever, etc.?

core.xxxx files are core dumps (dumps of the mem used for debugging) probably caused by php/apache crashing, it would be best to contact your host and let them deal with it.
