Hi,
This is new territory for me. I'm here to get some idea of the value of a domain I've owned since 1997. At one time ('98-2000) it showed up in the "Top Ten" on all the major search engines. But that was back in the day, when SEO was far less complex than it is today.
But as I am looking for new ways to monetize web sites, I may well end up as a 'regular' here. I have reasonable beginner SEO skills, and decent web site development skills. While I'm using Drupal these days, I suspect my old HTML and static web development skills may end up being more useful for monetizing on the web - Drupal is notoriously a PITA to get any meta tags included. And inserting javascript into a drupal page is problematic.
I will post the domain I want to try and sell in the Domain Appraisals section as I want to abide by the rules. I tried out Estibot and another site: both came up with $14,000.00 as an estimate. But it is a two-word domain with clear meaning, can easily be verbalized (nobody could write it down wrong and I never was asked to spell or repeat the name), and is appropriate to today's economy? I just don't know. I do know that like anything else, it's only worth what a buyer will pay.
Any other suggestions or ideas welcome.
