Fantastico script suggestions for a newbie...

Hi, probably getting use to seeing my posts fo help, but here comes another one, lol. Is there any of the fantastico pre-installed scripts, forex.:xoops, soholaunch, dotproject, that could help in the web design process for myself, a complete newbie? I mean could it help simplify the process of building everything and getting it on the web? I have looked over their site information and some of it seems greek to me (phpp, mysql, etc...is just foreign for me-just seeing the terms create instant anxiety!lol!), but they seem to say, from what I could make of the overviews, that they can basically help you to create and manage your pages, some with little or no html knowledge, and I was wondering if any of you have some personal advice you could pass on. If you have ever used any of it and if you find it easy to understand/figure out. Fantastico gives you a lot of script options and I feel like surely one of them could help me out, just can't figure out which one! Too many choices! Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Thanks yet again,

It is going to be a motocross web site. General information about the sport, showcaseing up and coming motocross stars and competitors. I hope to list track information, up coming race schedules that sort of thing. A photo gallery and some video. And eventually a forum forum for motocross discussions. Really focusing on the young kids just starting in the sport. List some resources for sponsor info, how to get started, etc...
It will definitely take some time to get it up and going...especially with me developing it, but I hope for it to be really helpful for people interested in the sport, especially the parents of kids that want to get in to it. I know I have a 5 yr. old that just started competing this year and he loves it. I thought of the site idea when I found that some of the info and answers I needed, as a parent of a motocross kid, I couldn't find on the web. So I figured I'd start a site that could help out others like myself and we could share what knowledge and advice we have with others.

How about using PHPnuke? And then finding a theme for it which fits the site content?

Is it fairly simply to figure out? I mean really simple! If not, I would be doomed...lol. I know there are quite a few things under fantastico that seem like they would be just what I need, but the main thing is once I install it will I be able to figure out what to do next?!! hehehe If it is a real simple to follow software/script (don't know the lingo) once you get it installled and going? Can you if you are a beginner figure out what steps to do next?
Thanks in advance,
Nikki

PHPnuke is nice and simple to figure out. It installs automatically via Fantastico.

After much debate and research I think I have it narrowed down to two: either SohoLaunch or Mambo. They seem the easiest for me to figure out and understand. Anybody familiar with either of these? I really looked into the xoops, and phpnuke, but felt like I would get lost with them. I am leaning more so toward Mambo since it doesn't have eCommerce like Soho, which I don't have a need for...eCommerce. Any input is appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Nikki
