A bunch of the bids are only $5-10.

So for example, webmaster PayPals $7 to the programmer, and ScriptLance bills the webmaster $5? So in the end he spends $12 from PayPal account.

But it sounds like SL charges both webmaster & programmer? If they charge the programmer, then he gets $7 and pays $5, so that doesn't make much sense...

Are the programmers ducking the SL fees or what?

Well, scriptlance does charge those fees to both webmasters and programmers. Many projects do go for $10 - which means the programmer ends up clearing $5 for the work. I got kinda tired of their higher fees, so I've decided to start my own freelance board - lower fees, and free to the webmasters, so the webmasters can afford to pay a little more to the developers. There's others springing up too - however, scriptlance is still the most popular by far. Here's a few examples:

One other site that is getting off the ground in the freelance market is.

Many of these freelance sites do charge fee. May have many difrent structurs of fee, but One of them has more then 700 signups in first week online. www.onlinelance.com Try them for a change.

They are free and good, offer good customer support also.
