Do I need dedicated IPs?

I host a quite a few websites on the same account at (company)Hosting. Probably something like 20 sites.

Does it hurt the SEO of these websites by being all on the same server IP? Do I need to get dedicated IPs for each site?

Thanks!

You do not need dedicated ip's, but having them can be advantageous. For example if you want to send links from your own sites to each other. Using separate ips is recommended.

This is especially apparent if you are using some of your sites as support sites for a main/money site. Then you should always have dedicated ip's.

tripflex is an unknown quantity at this point

I've been told that Google does not like backlinks from the same IP but that's not reason to go buy dedicated IPs for each site

I've heard this too. Although, I've also heard that the available IPs will be a part of the same sub group, so it may not be of as much help, as say being from separate hosts.

Different C-Class Ips is what is needed. Hostgator for example offers this, just search for their SEO Hosting.

Its always safer to have your support sites and main money site on different ips.

I'm using shared IP for most of my site, and until now I did not encounter any problem.

The only time you will run into a problem is when you link together all said 20 sites. Google will notice that the keywords don't relate and they will consider it a link pool.
