Is BackLinks Worth Any Value At All?

Hi Guys,

I just wanna ask about the number of backlinks we have on one particular domain that we would like to sell. Is domain with huge backlinks worth any value at all? let's say I have 2 domains with the same age, same PR, same niche, both contains short name TLD, but one has 30K links, one has 80K links. What do you guys say?

More looks better at first glance but a wise buyer will look at the quality of the links, age of links and if they are permanent or not.

You could have one website linking to you 1000 times which is very different than 1000 websites linking to you once. So not only the number of backlinks but also the number of linking domains is important. Of course it is also important who is linking to you. For instance links from .gov or .edu sites are considered very valuable.

I'm using a site called majesticseo.com which provides number of backlinking domains and number of .gov & .edu domains that link to you as well.

Backlinks do matter. Assuming i have shortlisted 2 domains to buy and like everything about the both of them, i'll definitely choose the one with more backlinks...

backlinks from .edu or .gov is worth 500 times better than any normal backlinks from any PR site you know of.

How to get backlinks to those authority sites?. PM me.

The more backlinks the better,, but like others have said it depends on where the links are coming from and if they a permanent links or just temp links that disappear in the near future.

As long as the backlinks are quality, from reputable sites and are from sites with the same type of traffic. it will always help in the re-sale.

Backlinks are definitely valuable. I think that backlinks are more valuable if you are developing or selling a website, rather than a domain, as google quickly deindexes backllinks from "parked pages" or inactive domains.

This is pretty much what I was going to say. If you go to a place like DigitalPoint, backlinks and PR are almost all they look at, even more than the quality of the domain in many cases.
