I am needing to protect a couple areas of my website and was told the best way was to use a htaccess file...how do I do this? Any help would be great...
do you have cpanel with your current web host? if so its usually www.yourname.com/cpanel with the username and password usually the same as yuor ftp details.
if you have cpanel, simply click on "password protect directories" and your away. otherwise i suggest www.htmlhelp.com for some info on .htaccess files. good luck!
When I ask how I will password protect my folders they jsut told me to Modify .htaccess and search 'how to' at Google.
They really suck when it comes to convenience, dont they? >
