Problem with a Cache?

I wasn't sure where to post this. So here goes.

I've been developing a minisite. I've got all the links on the front page working as I like. The problem came when I was developing the Links Page, which is in a sub-folder. There are only two pages there. My changes were working and my ftp updates were working. But then all of a sudden, any update wasn't being reflected in the browser. I even deleted the files and uploaded them again. They still showed the old data, not the new data I'd uploaded. I checked my files locally. Yep, they are the updated files. So. I thought this might be some kind of cache problem. So I deleted my cache. But this didn't solve the problem.

So I tried connecting with my Laptop using Chrome. The same problem. So is there some kind of cache out there which hasn't updated and I just have to wait until it updates? I've never experienced this kind of problem ever before.

I'm using Firefox on Linux on my work machine, whilst my Laptop is using Chrome on Windows XP.

Is there any command in linux which might refresh this (?) cache? It's really annoying being stopped in full flight like this
