| Senior Member | Old HTML Site To WordPress? Would it be possible to move an old HTML site over to Word Press without losing links to pages or being hurt by search engines? I mean you can set up permalinks just as you had regular pages so there should not be any 404s right? For example, I want the site on a CMS but i don't want to lose any links to say something like xxxxx.com/games.html. I want the site my site on a CMS like Wordpress because sick of updating over 300 pages by hand everytime I need a side-wide update lol. Any help would be appreciated.

| Senior Member | it's possible to make the move if it's all html, although the new site will likely look different. how difficult it will be and whether you will mess up your internal link structure (and images) will depend on how large and messy the current setup is. at the very least you'll need to recreate each page and then setup a general redirection of all example.html files to example/. |

| Senior Member | Thanks for the info, I might try a smaller site first.

| NamePros Regular | I changed over all my sites to WP and I had a similar situation which I got around by linking to a large HTML page of links from the front page of my WP - so I basically, didn't convert that one page. It's not an elegant solution but at least I didn't lose all the work. |
